Game: Crystal
Player: Kasumi

Wooper:
-Was taught TM 31 (Mud-Slap, previously obtained from Falkner) while I visited Azalea Town.
-Both Wooper and Slowpoke learned HM Surf after I obtained it at the Ecruteak Dance Theater.
-After I defeated the Elite Four in Johto, Wooper got lucky to be taught Ice Beam by the Move Tutor in Goldenrod, but not before having Surf deleted from its move list. (Ice and Earth moves make a better combination than Water and Earth moves; besides, Slowpoke also knew Surf anyway).

Geodude: Learned TM 37 (Sandstorm), which I bought at the Celadon Dept. Store.

Slowpoke: Learned HM Surf after I got it in Ecruteak City. Much later in the game, he was supposed to evolve after leveling up once on Route 39, but remained as Slowpoke anyway since he only had one more technique to learn.

Spearow: Evolved into Fearow the first opportunity it got, somewhere along Routes 13-15.

Sentret: Evolved into Furrett in the same place.

Psyduck: Hatched from an egg along the same routes, and was taught HM Cut.

Staryu: Evolved as soon as I was given a Water Stone by Fisherman Tully. Was taught Flash in order to navigate the Dark Cave. Also participated in the battle against Ash (was taught HM Waterfall prior).

Delibird: Doesn't learn any natural moves, aside from already knowing Present. Therefore, I automatically taught him HM Fly. After defeating Lance in Johto, I also spent an entire weekend at the Goldenrod Casino so I could get the Move Tutor to teach it Ice Beam as well. (Man, that took the entire weekend which I had off from my job at the time, but hey...I'm glad I don't even work at McDonald's anymore.)

Ursaring: Captured in the Dark Cave with an Ultra Ball. I only had a few hours at the time before I had to go to my job, and I couldn't risk letting him run away.

Chinchou and Suicune: Both learned HM Whirlpool when I received it.

Shellder: Evolved into Cloyster as soon as I got the chance. Bill's grandfather wanted to see a Staryu in exchange for a Water Stone, but unfortunately, Starmie didn't count. I fished for a Staryu at Route 34, and it came with a Stardust, which sells for 1 grand. (Man, I'm lucky!) Before evolving Shellder, though, I took the opportunity first to explore the Water Room at the Ruins of Alph.

Clefairy: Can't remember when I evolved her into Clefable, but it might've been right after I captured her. Also, how on earth did it learn Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam? It's already hard enough to roll two consecutive 5's, and it would take forever for me to earn enough coins to learn all three moves from the Move Tutor.

Raikou:
-Captured on Route 34 with the Master Ball.
-Was automatically taught TM 07 (Zap Cannon) when I began to hunt Entei. (This Pokemon was chosen because he was still at exactly Level 40 and also had Quick Attack.) I was hoping that Entei would have less of a chance of fleeing if paralyzed, but I was wrong. Oh well, at least this move would serve me better than Thundershock when I got around to battling Ash.
-Was later on taught HM Cut to override Quick Attack, in order to fetch a Rare Candy behind a bush before venturing into Mt. Silver.
-Finally, this Pokemon deserves credit for participating in the final showdown, along with previously helping me capture both Ho-oh and Lugia.

Ho-oh:Automatically learned HM Fly after being captured. This move replaced Gust; other moves are a long way off, and as predicted, this Pokemon (along with Lugia and Raikou) never levelled up even once. Also deserves credit for participating in the final battle.
