Jul. 24th, 2007 06:21 amI finally bought Pokemon LeafGreen yesterday.
Last night, Dad and I watched the second half of an episode of The Simpsons. In this obvious parody of My Fair Lady, Lisa taught Groundskeeper Willie how to be a gentleman, and it yeilded him a job in a restaurant. However, people were mean to him, and he didn't like the job, so that's why he went back to being the school janitor.
This person's job situation does contrast with my own transition between jobs. Willie didn't like his new job because people would throw food at him and insult him, and it made his old job seem like heaven. As for me, I hated my job at McDonald's because I was in a constant rush for four straight hours every Saturday and Sunday to keep up with orders. Having my coworkers hurrying me up, telling me to sort or not sort buns, and once in a while, even pulling various pranks on me certainly did not make my job easier. However, I loved the job I got at Suffolk County Community College last year. The people there were really nice, and the tasks that involved picking out brochures for orders that required certain ones was even fun.
