Jul. 29th, 2007 06:01 amYesterday, Mom took me and Marie out to the boatyard to meet up with Dad, who was gonna sail out in the middle of Patchogue River so we could watch a firework show. For the first time in my life, we saw the barge which shoots the fireworks pass right by us, some time before Dad started up the catboat. When we got to the viewing site, it still took at least another hour before we saw any real fireworks. To add to it, we could see four spotlights from where we were, which marked some baseball game that was going on. We did pass the time though by talking about various things, such as movies, etc.
The actual firework show lasted only half an hour (roughly), but it did feature some interesting designs. Some such explosions included spinning swirls, halos, hearts, and smiley faces.
On the way back to the docks, I heard the life ring fall into the water, and alerted Mom and Dad to retrieve it. Marie shined the crab light on it, and we had no trouble getting it back. (It's a good thing we got that crab light. If it had been the handle, which is a one-of-a-kind, at least we might still be able to keep track of that while one of us dives down for it.
By the time we left and got inside the car, Dad was just about already asleep, so Mom had to drive us home. It was 11:30 already, and upon waking up to type up this entry, I've been a little bit drowsy, but it's good to get this over with.
