Yesterday, Marie's boyfriend Scott came over, and the two of them went to some pancake house that Scott likes to go to. Upon coming back home, they noticed a brown preying mantis the size of a tennis ball on the front door's threshold. Marie was scared to go through the front door because she thought it would bite her, so she went in through the back door instead.

Later on, I went outside and noticed a garter snake underneath Scott's car, and I had to reach under the car to pick it up. It kept fleeing from me, but it couldn't get out into the sunlight, and even tried to bite me while I was trying to catch it. When I got it, I showed it to Marie and Scott, and it bit me on my left hand, on the joint where my pointer finger is connected. It didn't hurt the least bit, although the bite marks did bleed slightly, and Marie was amazed that I didn't even flinch, let alone drop it. In fact, I took the time to walk over to Mom's garden and gently place it on the ground, but Marie meanwhile called Mom at work to tell her about it. I understand that these snakes are non-venomous, but Mom did tell me to wash the bite marks and put some antibiotic ointment over it, which I did.

I downloaded a screenshot of Kendo Rage off of this website called MobyGames, so that I could modify Josephine (Hikari in the Japanese version) to look as she would in SMW2: Yoshi's Island rewritten (i.e. enlarging her nose and making it cone-shaped). I still have a little bit of work left to do with it before posting it onto DeviantArt, but this was a good opportunity to save myself a great deal of editing work that I took.

I told Jake and Martin about my new pic, and Jake said it looks too big. I told him that it was meant to resemble Linda's nose from the Snowboard Kids game series. I showed him the box cover for Snowboard Kids 2 (pointing Linda out after posting the link to it), and he asked me why big noses interest me. I said that paraphilias are one of those things that can't be explained, and he told me that it can and to stop acting otherwise. I told him I'd have to ask my parents about it, because I didn't know how to explain it myself, but I linked him to Wikipedia's page on paraphilias before I had to end the convo for the time. (When I came back to MSN later on, Jake asked me what exactly I liked about nasophilia, even if I can't explain why I like it. I did miss some details I should've mentioned, but I'll be sure to cover said details in the pics description when I post it onto DA.

Mom came home from work while I was talking to Jake, and she and I had to go to the Dowling campus for an appointment. Before we left the house, though, she had a look at my snakebite, and Marie also showed her that preying mantis on the doorframe. We tried to pick the mantis up to put into the garden, but it escaped into the bush near our front steps instead.

On the way there, I asked Mom about why certain things turn any given individual on or don't do so. She said that any kind of personal tastes (such as humor, music, or food) can't be explained, only enjoyed.

Putting that aside, Mom also suspects that Jake, like me, might have Asperger's Syndrome, because he seems chronically depressed (which is obvious in his blog) and he sometimes gets curt with me even though I make all effort to sugarcoat everything I say so as to not hurt his feelings. I told her that sometimes, when I use certain figures of speech, he tends not to understand them, and I have to explain them more straightforwardly, which I'm able to do most of the time. However, whether or not Jake is autistic is his own business, and if he wants to deny it (assuming he even is), that's simply his choice.

After finishing the appointment, we had a tour of the Racanelli building to see where all my classes will be. They're all conveniently located on the third floor, not even more than a block away from one another. Then, we went to the bookstore to see what books I need for my classes. We were able to order most of them at the Longwood Public Library, but a handful of them had to be bought on campus. As a bonus, we even got a bumper sticker with the name "DOWLING" written across it. Upon leaving campus, Mom decided to place it on the back window, right above Brian's Cornell sticker.

On the way home, we stopped at the grocery store. Not much happened while we were shopping, but while we were checking our stuff out, Dad's friend Bill Spadiero walked by and spotted us. He said hi to me, and Mom responded back with a hi. He said that he's buying "dinner," and when Mom later on was talking to Dad, Dad told her that his wife works during those hours, and he has to buy and cook his own meals instead.
