Oct. 6th, 2007 06:31 amBrian came home yesterday, but he'll be leaving on Monday.
Marie...well, I can't remember where she went last night, but she's been there overnight and still isn't home right now.
Last night, while I was playing Dark Cloud, Brian walked into our bedroom and watched me play. He asked me various questions about the game, and I explained all kinds of technical stuff to him. I even made a joke about some enemy called an Alexander ("Alexander is giving me a terrible, horrible, no-good, very-bad day", a reference to some children's book) because fighting one of those things is really annoying, especially when he has some cohorts with him. Alexander in this game is actually a reference to a certain ancient conqueror by the same name. It's actually a mask that carries a wavy sword and a round shield. Ruby is best for dealing with him because she has the strongest long-range weapon, and melee weapons get damaged in increments of 5 WHP when they strike stone or metal enemies. Alexander's two attacks are swinging his sword (which can poison you, forcing you to waste either an Antidote Drink or a Mighty Healing) or breathing a fast-moving fireball at you. Two hits and you're dead. Sometimes, when you want to conserve food, having to heal during any fight is a bitch when you have to keep running back and forth to have a dip. (I'm just lucky there even was a fountain at which to heal.) Try shooting it at long range or before it attacks, and it just blocks it off. Having to also deal with a Gemron and a Pirate's Chariot is also frustrating as hell, because both of those enemies also have long-range attacks to keep you moving around with. Would you two just leave me alone while I try to kill this smart alec!
