Jan. 10th, 2008 05:51 amFuyuki's Hot Night seems to have attracted quite an audience on DeviantArt. I have at least one person each day (on most days anyway) adding it to their Favorites Archive. This morning, I found out that sprk-77 has added the fic, both of Ellen's pics, and Bikini Girl Rockna to their Favorites archive.
If there's any downside to this, though, it's that most of the DA members who add any of the aforementioned works to their lists enjoy breasts and butts way bigger than in most fanservice-based anime (e.g. Divergence Eve, Grenadier, or Sailor & the Seven Ballz). I'm glad I'm not the only person who doesn't enjoy excessive breast expansion. For example, when I spoke to Martin, he said that even though he's not a BE fan to begin with, he doesn't mind looking at such pics, as long as they're not what he also described as "super-insanely huge". Someone besides me who draws BE but at a reasonable level would happen to be Jessica Elwood. She never added any of my pics to her favorites archive; I found one of her pics on DeviantArt's main page once, looked through her gallery, and added her to my Friends archive.
Okay, so I don't enjoy excessive breast expansion. Of course, very few people are going to like Big Coneshaped Nose (my pic of Hikari/Mai/whatever-you-want-to-call-her*), and even fewer people are going to enjoy seeing the cute, cone-nosed girl giving Baby Mario a diaper change. In any case, I do enjoy having people add my pics to their Favorites archives or posting reviews, because it shows that people actually appreciate my hard work. Maybe sometime soon, I'll work on another pic, whether it be refining Nozomi's pic, getting started with Fuyuki Hinata naked, or fulfilling Jake's request for Delia Ketchum as she'd appear in Ellen's fic.
(*Even though the girl's name is actually Mai, I've still been calling her Hikari on this blog to avoid confusion among readers. Honestly, I prefer Mai, because it's cuter and much less cliche than Hikari. Mai is the name of the main character from the original Makeruna Makendou; Hikari is her blue-haired sister who was the main character from Makeruna Makendou 2: Kimero Youkai Souri.)

Putting artwork aside, another noteworthy thing about yesterday was the Angry Video Game Nerd's new video, Chronologically Confused About Zelda. I can relate to the Legend of Zelda series quite well. The two most important Zelda games in my life were Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (on the Super NES) and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (on the Nintendo 64). I played both those games a lot during 7th grade (one of the most nolstalgic years of my life). The latter game, in my opinion, was one of the last classic games on the N64 (the other two/three being Banjo-Kazooie, Snowboard Kids 2, and maybe Wonder Project J2), which itself was the last classic console of my life. Several years later, I came up with ideas for a completely new Zelda game to make in the future... or more acurately, two versions of a new game: one based on A Link to the Past, and the other based on Ocarina of Time. It would take place in an entirely new/different version of Hyrule (which "splittists" believe most Zelda games already do). Of course, since I'm most likely never going to be making any video games myself, these ideas will probably only be made into a fanfic (if they ever are materialized at all).
Some key aspects of the Zelda game I was going to make:
-It was going to take place in a completely new version of Hyrule. It might have had some of the same characters from existing games, along with completely new characters.
-For the sake of resurrection, this game was going to also include Rue and Mint (from the Playstation game Threads of Fate) as playable characters. Other ToF characters (such as Claire and Maya) would also be plot-related.
-Up to three players would be able to control one of the characters each. Link specializes in wearing masks (as he did in Majora's Mask), Rue transforms into monsters (like he did in his own game), and Mint collects magic spell (similar to Din's Fire, etc. from Ocarina of Time) after each dungeon is cleared. These masks and magic spells work differently than from their respective games, and Rue can have up to twenty-four monster species to transform into.
-The beginning of the game would involve collecting the same four Boss Masks from Majora's Mask, which would be the keys to collecting the Master Sword. Link fights Twinmold (inside the Deku Tree), and then Gyorg (while escorting Zelda through the secret passage in Hyrule Castle); Rue has a similar beginning as in ToF, but is confronted by Odolwa; Mint fights Goht while escaping from the East Shadow Kingdom*. The three of them will eventually find one another.
*I know. This was previously the East Heaven Kingdom. However, in the game, I was going to classify Mint as a Shiekah. On a website that I can't find anymore, someone translated "Sheikah" into English as "People of the Shadows."
-While Hyrule Field is still an expansive plain like it was in Ocarina of Time, the main part of the Golden Land/Dark World is a huge maze of golden brick walls. Players would need particular items in order to access more and more of the maze, which would lead to more places to visit.
-The Spiritual Stones and the Sage Medallions now have a lesser role than they did in Ocarina of Time. The Stones are now the Royal Family Jewels, which must all be found within Hyrule Castle in order to access a certain chamber within the Castle. The Medallions are all found in one dungeon (not sure which) and become platforms in a certain room (similar to how the platforms worked in Elroy's Atelior in ToF).
-Along with Golden Skulltula Tokens and Pieces of Heart, players can now look for Scrolls in order to extend the gameplay. Collecting all the Scrolls in the game unlocks a really challenging special mode after completing the game, in which enemies can now drop key items (such as the Hookshot or a Bottle) just as easily as Rupees or Hearts; collecting the Key Items replaces what items were previously useable with the C-buttons (or any equivalent to those). Hard to explain.
