dmxratedSomeone gave me the PC-FX BIOS yesterday through a PM in the ROMhacking.net forum. I still have yet to configure it, but once I do so, I'll be sure to give TheNewX a copy, along with the instructions on how it works.
Also, ROMhacking.net does have a Help Wanted Ads section, but it doesn't allow for pleas to start completely new projects. After a bit of looking around, there are some people who translated basic stuff in other games, extracted the scripts from those games, and are leaving the dialogue up to others. However, I'm sure it would still pay to translate at least some of the dialogue in Makeruna! Makendou Z, as well as all the self-explanatory stuff, so as to seem like I'm making an effort. For example, with the first several conversations in the game:
Well, it starts out with Hikari saying "Gochisousama!", which translates into "A feast!" Mai wakes up, yawns, and says "Ohayou!" ["Good morning."] Mai and Hikari's father says something that's partially displayed in kanji, and finishes it with "Ohayou, Mai!" After that, I just can't comprehend anything, except for "oneechan" (which Hikari addresses Mai as). During the conversation, the girls' mother says "Mai-chan, asagohanha?" "Asa" was actually in kanji, but I did catch those two syllables in the voice acting. Even though "asagohan" translates into "breakfast," I can't tell whether she's asking Mai if she had breakfast, if she wants breakfast, what does she want for breakfast, or whatever else. Mai answers the question with "Iranaai", which I couldn't find on the site or in the dictionary. In some cases, the characters even seem to skip syllables that are displayed in the text, and that will be really problematic in FMVs and other scenes where there is no text whatsoever
The next convo takes place between Mai, Hikari, and their mother as the two girls leave for school. I couldn't find a single word other than "oneechan" from this conversation in either source.
