Yesterday, I had an appointment with Dr. Perret, so I had to take the bus to Stonybrook Hospital at 12:20 noon. I didn't play Pokemon Pearl at all yesterday, but I did spend the first half of the day working on Ellen's new pic, which is coming along nicely.

It's the middle of August now, and I'm almost done with Pearl. All I have to do is finish navigating Stark Mountain with Buck, navigate it again, confront and capture Heatran, maybe battle my rival (whom I named Willis), and then try my luck at the Battle Tower. I do plan on continuing Chronicles of 7th Grade today or tomorrow, but I should also note that after I finish Pearl, I plan on playing Pokemon FireRed. Normally, I would continue with Ruby before playing FireRed, because I doubt I'm gonna be eager to start over with Emerald (same game, different version, being saved for last before Platinum) right after completing Ruby. However, even though I find most of Pokemon's female cast to be attractive, Ellen is my favorite girl character from the series, by a long shot. I would prefer to start with her fic rather than May's first. Furthermore, even though Ruby and FireRed both came with their share of Pokemon, Ruby has all kinds of 1st- and 2nd-gen Pokemon that aren't normally obtainable in RSE, including a whole bunch of starter Pokemon. It would be a real shame to waste all of those, and if Adam can get a hold of his Nintendo DS and Pearl copy next time we meet him, I would prefer to share the wealth with him.

I told Jake before that I'm most likely not going to bother playing Pokemon Ranger, but I did mention that time that the possibility does exist that I would change my mind. This might be the game that will come between Ruby and Emerald, and is also the only way to access Manaphy without hacking him/her/it/whichever directly. Even though the gameplay is not quite the same as a typical Pokemon game, it could still be fun nonetheless. Also, it hasn't been confirmed when or if Pokemon Gold and Silver will be remade for the Nintendo DS, or if they'll have any equivalent to the PAL Park in DPP, with which you can migrate Pokemon from any Game Boy Advance Pokemon game. The PAL Park is exactly the reason why I'm going back to playing Ruby, FireRed, and Emerald, and if Gold and Silver really are remade, then I'll have no reason to go further back to play Silver on the Game Boy Color.
