Marie came home two days ago. She brought some canoles with her, and after we ate dinner, each of us had one as we all came together to watch a DVD episode of Malcolm in the Middle.

Two days ago was also Mom's birthday. Dad got me a card, and I wrote "Mom, It's the Christmas in September. I hope you're enjoying it. Love, Eric." I actually got that idea from Penny Arcade, where Gabe's birthday is referred to as such in two strips:

So far, Getter Love!! still hasn't reappeared on Ebay, but I did find an auction for Snowboard Kids Plus for the first time ever. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm gonna buy this copy, because it's been set for over $150, buying a new memory card and a boot disk costs even more money, and I only have about $400 in my bank account. Getter Love only went for $64 when I saw it up for auction, which is less than half of what SK+ is going for right now.

Wanna know what's really piqued my interest recently? Wario. Same way that Sonic the Hedgehog did three years ago shortly after I downloaded Gens. I've played plenty of games about Super Mario, including a few in which Wario was at least a playable character (such as Mario Kart 64), but the only Wario-exclusive game I ever played was Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 on the Game Boy (and even then, only once). Wario has had plenty of games on various consoles including one on the Virtual Boy and the Wii each.

Yeah, I mentioned the original Wario Land on the Game Boy. Speaking of the Game Boy, I can remember the days when kids would walk around with the original white Game Boy, which ran on these cute little white game paks. To me, the most notable of these would be Joel Ploth, who had the WL copy that I played, along with plenty of other games (my favorite at the time being Super Mario Land). Today's equivalents happens to be the Nintendo DS and the Playstation Portable, but what's really notable about the Game Boy is that it lasted all the way from the beginning of the NES era until halfway through the Nintendo 64 era (at which point the Game Boy Color came out). Even though I do have a Game Boy Color, and even though the regular Game Boy (not the Game Boy Pocket) was cumbersome and ran on four batteries, it would still be nice to have a Game Boy and a whole bunch of games for it at home...even if some of the games do suck.

I'm not sure if I'll actually buy a regular Game Boy from Ebay. Maybe I will, or not, but I do know that I'm not gonna buy a Virtual Boy. Any game on that thing is more conveniently played on an emulator.
