dmxratedYesterday, I had a meeting with Lauren and someone named Victor, regarding something called the Dowling Project. From now on, I'm supposed to meet with them in the cafeteria twice a week, and among other stuff, they're gonna try to have me socialize with other participants and set up monthly outings. Worth a try, even though ACLD didn't work out too well.
I also had an appointment with Dr. Perret last night. We were early when we got to his office, so Mom offered to get me a milkshake from Burger King, which was just a block down the road. It turned out that I had over $10 left over from lunch, and she told me to pay for it myself. (She's the one who gives me lunch money.) I got a Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich, an Oreo milkshake, and some pink lemonade, all of which I ate in the car. I usually don't eat fast food, but I decided to make an exception here because I can't have just ice cream after having eaten some mozzarella sticks, a popsicle, and a swiss role for lunch.
I spoke to Dr. Perret about my plans for a video game translation business, and how I thought I am unable to fund anything as long as I'm still in college. He said that what I really need is a venture capitalist to give me a loan. Whether it be for Project Mai or for Retro Savior, I'm gonna need to get to know him and to discuss my plans with him before he can give me as much money as I need to start with. As for starting a company, he did say that it's best to start small, either renting floor space or, better yet, carrying out my activities in my basement, and just do one game at a time to see if a translation for that game pans out.
Well, it's good to know that even though I can't make a whole lot of money right now just by working, I can at least get a loan from someone. However, putting Project Mai to work right now probably still isn't a good idea, because I still have yet to translate all three existing Makendou games and figure out the plot. Besides which, I am taking a course in business this coming winter.
