Got two main things going on. I'll start with the more negative point first: I am unable to get our computer to read Japanese text. This is a problem because without Japanese, I can't access this online kanji guide, and I can't configure Mednafen to run PC-FX games. I tried using AppLocale to enable our computer to read Japanese, but it requires me to insert a CD called Windows XP Pro, which never came with our computer. It turns out that the program assumes that you just bought your computer brand new for business purposes. (You actually can get the disk in question, but they run for $100 to $200.

I just purchased another kanji dictionary online for about $15, and it's due to arrive here on October 30. From then on, whenever I want to continue translating Makeruna! Makendou Z or any other import game, I'll have a kanji guide right off the bat. As for actually playing MMZ, Xe is now capable of running PC-FX games, so I'll be sure to have a look at that tomorrow when I'm in school. I just hope that either it's in English or no configuration is required (both cases being true with Magic Engine FX), and that it actually has full sound support, unlike MEFX. There is one legitimate game copy on a store called Rising Stuff, and PC-FX consoles are actually fairly common on Ebay, but buying the real thing will have to be a last resort as the total cost almost reaches $200.

Moving on, Dad brought home a new kitten two days ago. According to him, he found two of them at his workshop the day before, but the following day, the mother came to get one of the kittens. He waited until the end of the day to see of the mother cat would come back for the other one, but she never did. He and Mom feel bad that he couldn't bring home the other kitten, but I actually feel slightly bad that the mother was only able to find one of them.

I shared the news with Marie that night, and the following day, she came home to see the cat. We haven't agreed upon a name yet, but my first choice was Roly (the name Milfeulle gave to a cat in Galaxy Angel). Later, though, Mom told me that Dad wanted to name him something ending in a consonant. One of my other choices was "Nyan", which is the sound cats make in Japan. Marie and Dad said it would be too hard to pronounce, though.
