I've been stuck in a cycle that will only end once I'm out of college. Every semester, I'm bogged down with both schoolwork and chores, and I tend to use the rest of my time for gaming. Every single semester, things get chaotic when I have exams to study for and papers to write up. Once the semester is over, all I want to do is unwind with yet more video games. I don't even bother to set a date to pursue any actual goals, and the closest I get to it at first is to write a list. I do manage to tackle some things, but when a new semester beings, the cycle begins anew.

A little while ago, Christian Senn, who has a team of people working for free on this Sonic game called Project S (did I bring that up before?) suggested that I share my ideas online and invite people to work on it when the time comes. Right now, I'm not sure how he manages to keep track of the progress of Project S, but if I can round some people up while still maintaining control of Project Mai, that would really cut costs. But even sharing my ideas is gonna have to wait; at the very least, I still need to translate the entire Makeruna! Makendou trilogy and post translations of each game on GameFAQs, seeing as I can't tell what's going on as far as the plot goes.

Now here's what the above two paragraphs have to do with each other: Yesterday, I just started to continue translating Makeruna! Makendou Z. Trying to locate every last kanji is a pain (not to mention that I still can't even find some of them). Having to share the computer with Dad is still an issue until I have both a physical copy of the game and a real PC-FX. But no, that's not enough. I have an exam coming up for Sociology, and it seems like Mom and Dad take every day I get to myself as an opportunity to saddle me up with some housework. Yesterday, they wanted me to move a million wheelbarrow loads of soil so that they could plant eight holly bushes. By the time I finished moving all that dirt, I just didn't even want to bother to continue with translations.

This is yet another reason why I will never get married and have kids when I move out. When I do so, things like mowing the lawn and vacuuming the house can wait until I'm damn well good and ready. (Mind you, I will go out of my way to take care of more important stuff like laundry, food shopping, and keeping the driveway snow-free.)

Anyway, I took pictures of certain characters from How to Draw Manga. Click the lj-cut to see who's who:

Nozomi and Joe

(Left: Nozomi's original design, before I modified her a year ago.)
(Right: Joe Coope, as he would first appear in SMW2: Yoshi's Island rewritten; will probably look different in the fourth Makeruna! Makendou game.)

Joe's transformation

(Joe's transformation in SMW2: Yoshi's Island rewritten. Will probably be different in the fourth Makeruna! Makendou game. His weapon is a slingshot, not that stick thing that he's holding in the above picture.)

Katsuo and others

(Second from left: Katsuo Hiragi, from Monster Collection Chronicles. My version was described on December 21, 2007; his anatomy (such as the shape of his head and eyes) will also match that of the canon child characters from Mon Colle Knights.)

(Fun fact: the pink-haired girl on the right was going to be a girl in Monster Collection Chronicles that Rockna would have given birth to while still a teenager. Her first name was going to be Chibi-Roku, but decided that that wouldn't be sophisticated enough. I then renamed her Sakura, before scrapping her altogether.)
