Nov. 26th, 2008 05:59 amI went to the Registrar yesterday morning, and showed them the slip of paper saying that I could register for classes. The lady there gave me a form to fill out, and I gave her the numbers for the classes that I would like to take. It went through, and now that's out of the way.
I canceled work again, but upon returning to McDonald's yesterday, the most I was able to get from my survey was from two assistant managers. They said that they couldn't allow me to survey regular employees. While the second one was filling it out at the counter, there were four female crew workers standing there as well. They were off duty, but were due to return to work in two minutes.
After we left, Mom drove me to the library so that I could pick up Chew On This, since it has one chapter about how employees are treated. There were five copies there, and I got one of them.
I am already started with the relevant term paper, but I'm really gonna need to get cracking with it. Mom is due to pick up Brian and Marie today, and Dad will be at work. I was originally going to go with Mom, but decided yesterday that I might be better off staying home since I work best when alone. It's also a good thing that we won't be having anyone else over for Thanksgiving this year.

Putting the project aside, I found this Pokemon fanfic titled "Pokemon Emerald: Gold's Adventure", which is a semi-novelization of Pokemon Emerald. However, in this case, Gold (or Jamie, as me and Jake usually call him) has just completed his adventure in Kanto, his family has moved to Hoenn, and he will be traveling with May. This is perfect, since what I'm planning for my own Pokemon fanfics is similar: Something that follows along the same lines as the games, but not so rigidly that there basically is no difference between the two formats.

About the concept of traveling together, though... well, most of the time, Ellen, Jamie, and May will be traveling alone. However, they will meet with one another in person during the Sinnoh arc, and Jamie meeting with Ellen on the S.S. Anne will be the most notable instance. The S.S. Anne would take a week to get from Johto to Kanto, and since each of the three mains beat the Elite Four in their own regions at roughly the same time, a week would therefore be the amount of time Ellen would have to explore the Sevii Islands, though she would probably come back early enough to take on Cerulean Cave before the ship arrives.
So, while our heroes will be traveling alone most of the time (even after they meet one another for the first time), they will start traveling as a group after at least defeating Cyrus on the Spear Pillar once and for all. (Or, it might be after they defeat the Elite Four of Sinnoh.)
Finally, here's an interesting way I recently came up with to wrap up the Sinnoh arc:
The last chapter might be titled "Three Sentimental" as a reference to...several things. First, according to Wikipedia and Anime News Network, "Three Sentimental" was the closing theme to Ultimate Girls, the anime series that inspired this ficseries. The other thing this chapter title refers to is a pic on Pokesho, which at one point was titled "Three Winners". I'll explain that one soon, but here's the pic right now:

(This illustration is property of Pokesho.)
Anyway, about the chapter itself: Ellen, Jamie, and May start out still fighting battles at the Battle Tower of Sinnoh's Fight Area. How ever many wins each of them score is open-ended, but once they're done, they decide to end their journey at the Resort Area. One of two scenes could follow: Either all three of them are at the swimming pool, with Ellen sunbathing on a beach chair, Jamie in the pool after jumping off the diving board, and May sipping some kind of drink while sitting alongside the pool. Or, since May is the only one who enjoyed the Super Contest in Sinnoh (and already had contest ribbons from Hoenn), she might be admitted into the Pokemon Spa. No big deal for Ellen and Jamie, though; in fact, they probably would be glad to get some time to themselves as a couple.
Either way, the chapter will end by cutting to a shot of a photo the three previously had someone take for them. (May might be looking at this one while she's alone in the spa; or, if all three of them are at the pool, said photo might be held by Ellen instead.) As the three chosen by Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, they had said picture taken of them posing just like Candice, Maylene, and Gardenia in the original picture, which one of them might have seen on TV or in a modeling magazine.
(If this were a movie, this would be where the credits finally roll, whether in front of the photo or cutting right to a black screen.)
On a side note, Candice sure looks hot wearing a sky-blue, two-piece bikini, and even hotter wearing a beach hat along with it. She's the most attractive of the three girls, whether in the pic or in any form of canon (player's guide, games, etc). Ellen should definitely wear that hat in the photo (and whenever she sunbathes).
