Jan. 15th, 2007 06:41 amBrian has already left home this morning.
The last of Marie's ants died several days ago, allowing Mom to finally take the ant farm apart.
I finally got around last night to presenting that Opus video to the family. Just in time for Brian's trip back to Ithaca. At first, Brian and Marie told us that they would come while the movie was progressing, but it was only half an hour long, and we all watched the whole thing. During the beginning, Dad asked if Portnoy (the groundhog) was in it, but I told him that it's set in Outland, not in Bloom County, and that Portnoy and Hodge-Podge (the rabbit) were dropped by then in favor of Truffles the Pig and Milquetoast the Cockroach. In one scene, I thought someone else taped some black-and-white movie over it, but it turned out to be Opus's dream before Christmas Day. When the movie ended, Mom commented upon the ending that the penguin found his own traits (swimming, especially in ice water) to be a good substitute for flying.
Considering that most of us didn't like that cake from two nights ago, Mom told us that she was going to throw it out. I told her to at least save the malted milkballs, but Dad said he liked it, so she ended up not disposing it after all.
While I was playing Pokemon Emerald last night, I beat Flannery on my first try, using mostly Azumarill within a team of other randomly chosen Pokemon. I was not exactly looking forward to this battle, considering how hard it had been in Pokemon Sapphire to survive a Torkoal that uses Overheat (let alone defeat), but using a few Super Potions had been enough to help Azumarill to survive the onslaught. And doing so had helped him level up a few times and learn Bubblebeam.
