May. 13th, 2007 07:10 amThursday was my last day of Workstudy. The semester is pretty much over, so I'm unable to work for this upcoming week. I still have to go to school tomorrow for my Math final, but after that, I'll have the rest of the day pretty much to myself.
Two days ago, while I was going on a fitness walk up and down Masem Court, I passed one of Marie's former friends, Tabitha Akin (is that how you spell her last name?), and stopped to chat with her. I asked her how things were, and she said things were fine. She asked me if I graduated, and I told her that pretty soon, I'll be graduating from Suffolk County Community College and going over to Dowling University. (By the way, Tabitha does live on Masem Court.)
Mom and Dad have started to take the wall down between their room and Marie's room, so we had to empty out both rooms. Yesterday morning, we looked through some stuff we kids made when we were little. That stuff had been inside Mom's nightstand because she had nowhere else to put all of it. ( Read more... )
Anyway, yesterday, Dad assigned me the task of helping him rip the side of the wall in his and Mom's room down. He showed me how to use the hammer, prybar, and handdrill, and it didn't take more than half an hour to get the entire wall ripped down.
After both sides of the wall were taken down, both Marie's room and the parents' room pretty much merged as one longer room. Mom had to jam-pack my closet full of Marie's clothes, and Marie had to sleep in the top bunk in my room where Brian usually sleeps when he's home. Mom and Dad, meanwhile, are going to be sleeping in the living room where their bed is until everything's straightened up.
