Happy Birthday, Rich!
Jul. 8th, 2007 06:41 pmMom took Marie up to Barnard University today, and Marie will be staying there for a week. She still has one year left of high school to complete, though, so she'll still be living here for another year.
When Mom came home, Phyllis knocked on our door to ask her to move her car around, because she was having guests over for a party. Later on, Mom was asleep, but right when the timer for her to wake up went off, Phyllis knocked again, and I answered it. She asked me if her guests could use our tree swing, and I gave them permission to do so. Right after letting Mom know her timer went off, I went outside to let the little kids in the backyard know that our swing is really old and might snap in half if they jump too hard on it.
Later on, I went back outside to where the kids were, and I introduced myself to them and their father. I forgot immediately what any of their names were, but I hung around and watched them. Two of them had these green and pink pads and a fuzzy, matching-colored ball which is supposed to stick to the pads. I also greeted two teenagers who were kissing on the stairs; they introduced themselves as Justin and Melanie. Within less than a minute, someone arrived who introduced himself as Rich when I greeted him. Today happens to be his birthday, and the kids' father asked them to come upstairs into the apartment after he arrived.
Shortly after they all went inside, I noticed someone up on the deck, and greeted him as well. He introduced himself as Brian, and I told him what a coincidence it was that that's also my brother's name who's currently upstate in Ithaca, New York. I noticed someone's hair above the deck wall, and I came up and said hi to three more people. One of them was Phyllis's brother, whose name I don't remember, but the other two was his wife Sally and his mother Tilly.
Glad I chose to right this right away, so that I won't forget tomorrow morning.
