Two days ago, for the first time, I skipped a bake sale that took place at school. In fact, even when I got home, I was too full to bother having so much as a few cookies and a glass of milk.

Dad stayed home from work yesterday so that he could paint the bookcase that was taken out of his and Mom's room. Coincidentally, my bus to school was late, and I called Mom to ask her to call the bus company. The bus finally came at 10:15 a.m., but the driver had one pickup and two dropoffs to make. Since my first class on Tuesdays and Thursdays begins at 11:30 a.m., I chose not to bother taking the bus, as Mom had advised me if that be the case. Instead, Dad had to drive me. On the plus side, I saved three dollars, which was to be used as bus fare, and by having something to eat at home, I saved even more money which would've been to pay for lunch.

Dad had himself surrounded by a million lights while he was painting the bookcase. It was so bright that I had to walk around the opposite side of the dining room table while he had all those lights on, even when he was doing something else.

Mom got me that Japanese dictionary the other day that I ordered from the library. With it, I tried playing Wonder Project J2 again to see if I could translate any of the words. At the beginning of the game, Josette says that she'd like to go outside, but if that's a bad idea, learning how to use items would be her second choice. I chose the latter, and pressed the correct sequence of buttons to highlight the items window, as she instructs, but all that happens is that I keep on talking to her instead. Guess I should write the instructions down on an index card instead. What's also annoying is that whenever she speaks in Japanese, I can't find a single word she says in the dictionary that I have. Might as well use a walkthrough instead. (Of course, as long as I still have the dictionary, I might as well get around to translating Mon Colle Knights for the Game Boy Color whenever I can get around to that. After all, I was successful at translating most of the instructions manual last year.)

Oh, and if you're playing WPJ2 on Nemu64, DO NOT continue with a regular saved file. It turned out that Nemu64 only freezes up when you do that (add to that, exactly in the same place). It's a good thing that at least it doesn't cause the entire computer to freeze, but I'd suggest using the Save State and Load State features instead, which are provided by Nemu64 (and other video game emulators as well).

Last night, an Nintendo Power magazine auction ended which had all the NP issues that I was looking for. It started out at around $20.25, but by the time it ended, it ran slightly above $40. I didn't bother bidding on it any further, because that's more than I'm willing to pay for some gaming magazines. In fact, I'd assume that these nolstalgic feelings that drove me to look for these issues in the first place might have long since worn off, although trying to find a good auction is still kinda fun.

Well, I finally have a much needed break from school. I have the rest of the week off, except for working on Saturday, and Brian is coming home this morning. As long as Brian's coming home, this week is better than any to ask him to show me how to transfer DVD content onto the computer.
