Here's what's been going on for the past few days:

Last Thursday, I had an appointment with Dr. Perret. On the way there, I spoke to Mom about my three research papers. On top of the failing grade I got for my Health midterm, one of them (for exactly that class) is due on the 8th of April, one week before the other two are due; none of them were even started yet, although I did underline enough information for my Psychology paper. Mom told me that I "better get my shit together", and said that maybe it would be a good thing to bring up with Dr. Perret. I told her that I had other stuff I'd rather talk about with him, and we had a slight argument (which, thankfully, didn't get blown out of proportion).

By the time I saw him, I wasn't in the mood to talk about anything else, so I myself brought up the state of my research papers. We discussed it, and I decided that part of my plan would include skipping work the next day to focus on the paper, especially since Marie was going to be at school that day.

It sucks that I have three research papers to work on, want to translate Makeruna! Makendou Z, and want to continue working on Chronicles of 7th Grade before I forget about it completely, all at the same time. But on the plus side, it only took the past Friday and Saturday to write up an outline for the Health paper (which deals with marijuana), and I was able to write the entire first draft in one day just yesterday. Now I just have to take that one to the writing lab, and then turn it in.

Wanna know what else sucks, though? Before I can use any other hex editor to translate Makeruna! Makendou Z, I'm gonna need to download Hex Workshop, which has its own site and (hopefully) works with any type of file. I could download it at home, except that I don't want to run the risk of infecting our computer. On top of that, when it comes to ROM hacking, most games cannot easily be hacked with even the right type of tool, because the data is compressed. The reason I was unable to hack Sonic 3 & Knuckles was because the graphics were compressed. In order to decompress whatever you're trying to change, you need to learn the assembly language of the respective console's CPU (which in the case of the PC-FX, is the NEC V810).

The following link leads to a forum thread containing important information regarding the topic, including a link to the instructions for the assembly language in question:
