Jun. 23rd, 2008 06:31 amI only have five weeks of stuff left to write to Chronicles of 7th Grade. The first of those is our trip to Acadia National Park that year; during the second week, we returned home, I rented Space Station Silicon Valley, and Uncle Robby left Cousin Adam in our care; and the last three weeks were the weeks we spent at summer camp that year. I'm at Monday of the first of those weeks (July 5, 1999), and let me tell you, having to write that particular entry is a chore because of some dispute that I had with my parents that night. I must write it, though, for the sake of integrity.
In general, though, it feels somewhat depressing that there won't be anything left of what feels good to look back to after summer camp ends. There were still four weeks of summer vacation after that, but those four weeks and 8th grade... well, they weren't terrible, but looking back to any time after the end of summer camp just feels dreary for some reason. What makes 7th Grade the most special year of my life? What makes it even more special than 12th grade? Honestly, I don't know. Whatever it is, though, the fact that that is my favorite year to look back to is exactly why I want to write some kind of expansion of it which isn't all about me.
..................................................................................................
Anyway, I got my controllers at Target yesterday, and opened one of them up (which is a regular-shaped controller with a silver frame). It's much, much better for playing Spheda with, but pretty soon, I'm thinking of putting Dark Cloud 2 aside to continue playing Pokemon Pearl. Lucky for me, Uncle Robby and Cousin Adam will be visiting this Saturday to attend Marie's graduation ceremony. Even if I won't be able to play Capture the Flag with Adam, at least this will give me a chance to do what I need to do in order to unlock Spiritomb... provided that he does bring his Nintendo DS and his copy of Pokemon Pearl this time.
