Last Christmas was when I got my Nintendo DS and my copy of Pokemon Pearl. I played it for a month, but right after I got all eight badges, I put it aside to work on Chronicles of 7th Grade. Months later, here I am about to come back to the game, except that originally, I planned on waiting until Cousin Adam was here so I could talk to him in the Underground. However, upon reading the Penny Arcade news archive, I found out that Deoxys is being given out at GameStop stores this weekend. Mom said that she can only take me there Friday, because she and Dad will be at the WoodenBoat show on Saturday and Sunday, and a closer look at the relevant webpage reveals that I need the NationalDex* in order to get Deoxys.

*Yeah, it did say to make sure you already have the Pokedex, but it's pretty obvious that it really means the National Dex. The regular Pokedex is what you start with, but the National Dex requires that you've at least seen all Pokemon immediately available in Sinnoh.
What does all that mean? It means I better start playing Pokemon Pearl ASAP before this opportunity passes over. Of course, I could just as easily use the GameShark on my copy of Pokemon Emerald to get one, but getting a legitimate one would be more fun and would save me a little trouble with GameShark codes and the PAL Park.
Before I could get started, though, Mom asked that I clean up the shelves and drawers in the refrigerator. She did two things in there that were particularly fragile, but one of them, which is the one-inch glass pane above the fruit and vegetable drawers, shattered into a million pieces while she was doing that one. She took at least fifteen minutes cleaning all the broken glass in the kitchen, and I had to do several things for her while she was at it. However, after most of the glass was up, Mom let me off the hook from cleaning the fridge.
Trivia: While I was Surfing to Victory Road in Pokemon Pearl, some girl in Pokemon Pearl told me last night that her favorite kind of guy is someone who looks good out on the water. I responded that my favorite kind of girl is someone whose ass I can feel up and then hand to her. Don't you just love to wisecrack at all these pathetic trainers? I sure do!
