Yesterday, I continued playing Pokemon Ruby, and the Shoal Salt and Shoal Shells wouldn't regenerate. I asked about it on various forums, and thought it would fix itself if I let sufficient time pass, but that didn't work. I tried fixing it with the Pokemon Collesium Bonus Disk, but it said that there was no glitch. Even checking Sapphire reveals that the same thing has happened on that game pak. However, around 6:00 P.M., I found out that I'm supposed to talk to the Shell Bell maker in order for the stuff to regenerate.

I also played Whacked! for the first time in five years since borrowing it from Matthew. Mom said that she remembers that game, and asked why Lucy is naked. I told her it's meant to be funny.

I also tried recording some footage from Makeruna! Makendou Z onto a VHS tape. As it turns out, though, doing so only erases whatever was recorded over. I couldn't actually get anything to appear on the taped section. However, from what I understand, unlike DVDs and videotapes, laserdisks are not write-protected. In fact, I even tried taping something from the TV, and changing the channel while the tape was recording, but to no avail. That means the problem is with the VCR. Looking into it online suggests that the cable box might be what's preventing me from taping anything. In any case, Mom said that she'll ask someone at work who has more knowledge on this issue.

For now, all I want to do is to be able to conveniently skip to whatever scenes I haven't yet translated, instead of having to play through all the same stuff again and again. However, when the time comes to make the YouTube dub, I'm actually gonna need all that footage to paste the new voice samples onto, plus I'm gonna need to know how to transfer the content onto the hard drive, whether from a tape or a recordable DVD. (Figuring out how to copy my Mon Colle Knights DVDs is still an issue, but it's on the back burner for now.)

My patience has worn thin. For the sake of both my potential MMZ YouTube dub and the prologue of Jake's version of SMW2: Yoshi's Island rewritten, I am going to see if anyone out there would be able to translate the main script of Makeruna! Makendou Z for me. It's not that I can't learn how to translate a language; it's that this is something I'd just like to get over with as soon as possible.

(In case any proof is necessary that I'm not just being lazy, I have already done a rough translation of the first few scenes in the game. I'm not sure how accurate they are, though, and there were some words and lines that I was just unable to translate. And, I've just started Japanese in Mangaland volume 2 today, after having read volume 1 all over again.)

No, I'm not gonna expect anyone to play through the whole game for me. Instead, Brian told me before that he has a program that allows one to type kana and even kanji. So, first thing is to play through the game, recording the main script into a notebook, and copy it onto the program in question. With text-only dialogue, I'm considering using some kind of video camera to record it and upload onto the computer. (We actually do have one that we used years and years ago, but we're not sure if it can connect to the hard drive.) Capturing the footage on tape or DVD will be crucial later, as will learning how to transfer the data to a PC, but for this, all I'm gonna need someone to do is to listen to the dialogue.
