Because Brian had his wine-and-cheese party last night!

Seriously, he and his friends have all been up until about midnight, and he's been sleeping on the futon near the computer room. I'd rather wake up Marie than Brian when they're asleep. But anyway, here's the rundown of yesterday...

Well, before Brian had all his friends over, we had Uncle Robby, Cousin Adam, and Grandpa Bob come and visit for dinner. Adam was wearing this Family Guy t-shirt titled "Quahog's Most Wanted!", which featured two screenshots of Stewie's face (front and side) and lists his crimes.

Grandpa watched the Super Bowl game, and Adam asked us if we could play Whacked! with him. He told us that he had previously played that game in Seattle, and we tried hooking up the Xbox up in my room. Well, we tried playing it, but I should mention again that the Xbox is nearly incompatible with my TV, and the game was virtually unplayable on it. I suggested that we wait until the living room TV was free, which it never was, but then again, that game is way too noisy to play when we have company over.

For dinner, our guests brought some crabcakes and salmon, but I don't like seafood, so I just had some rice and a few of those Japanese greenbeans. Adam had a grilled cheese. However, I had eaten a burger for lunch, which was pretty filling, and Mom presented a carrot cake for Brian's birthday after we finished eating.

(I should note that Mom was originally gonna make some lemon meringue cakes, but the cake part turned out to be too crumbly.)

Talia was the first one to show up for Brian's birthday party, which was after Robby, Adam, and Grandpa left. More people came. One of them brought his Wii, with... Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. He actually meant to bring Wii Sports, but must have forgotten to swap the disks. (Oh, and I did look at the disk, which was the normal size of a CD or DVD. If I remember correctly, though, the Wii is also supposed to be able to run GameCube disks. Maybe I'm wrong, but whatever.)

All kinds of food was being served on the dining room table, but I only took a couple of cupcakes. Among all the guests, there's not much really worth noting, but some of them did get to see our cat Mabel. I also noticed two guests playing Go Fish or some other card game near the futon.

It was 11:11 PM when I checked the oven clock, before I went to bed. Mom had already gone to pick up Marie at the airport, and I was already asleep when they came home.

Brian's bunk bed is still a mess from since Marie left. That means either he or Marie will have to continue sleeping on the futon, so expect more late entries in the days to come, until either Brian's bed is straightened up or Marie goes back to New York.
