Mar. 18th, 2009 07:46 amTwo days ago was my birthday, but we decided that we'd celebrate it on a night when Marie was home to eat dinner with us. Originally, she was scheduled to come home on Wednesday [today], but her return trip has been postponed by a day or two. She's gonna come home late tomorrow night, and we decided that we'll have cake on Friday.
I received my gift copy of Pokemon Pearl yesterday.
This Saturday, an event is being held at New York City, in which Pokemon Platinum will be sold a day earlier than scheduled. Upon reading about it on Pokemon.com, I read the words "great giveaways", and am assuming that this will include some downloadable Pokemon. I asked Mom to bring me there on that day, and coincidentally, she is gonna go there anyway to drop Marie off at her school.

For the past half-week, I've been cracking away at my transcript for Makeruna! Makendou Z. According to this walkthrough, I've already completed part 7, and have gotten the first five lines of part 8.
Once I have the whole game completed, I will still have the task of translating the whole thing, but I could still give Jake a complete *visual* summary of what happens in the game. Unfortunately, I don't know how much longer it's gonna be until Jake is less busy and feeling better enough to continue talking to me, which means that he might not want to comment right when I have the transcript finished. Well, I'd give him another month, unless he contacts me earlier than that.
Anyway, I do realize that I might have gotten a little carried away and rubbed my perception of "Legendary" Pokemon in his face during our dispute two weeks ago:
Him: "Do you know what is implied by the word 'Legendary'?
Me: "It means that only one exists anywhere in the world. Rotom is the most notable example of a weak Legendary. Also, from what I understand, Regigigas in Platinum starts out at Level 1. But no. To you, 'Legendary' means that a given Pokemon may as well be Level 100."
If I were to apologize to Jake directly, though, he might think I'm only trying to win back his support for the fic. Mind you, it is a shame to have lost him, after the enthusiasm he showed when I first described the ficseries, and the ideas that he gave me from there on until the aforementioned argument. He is free to change his mind about it if he ever decides, but to be honest, I doubt that he will want to ever discuss the fic again. I'm only writing this to get it off my chest. In fact, if I do win him back, he'll probably get pissed off again about my insistence about the use of gemstones, and possibly about inventing "Light" as a type (which I even more strongly feel should *have been* the case all along).
Anyway, I've come up with some ideas for existing and potential fanfiction. However, since Jake most likely isn't gonna be ready to have a real convo with me anytime soon, I'm later on gonna write about them on this blog instead. Stay tuned!
