Aug. 21st, 2009 04:47 amThat TV's whole frame is brittle as hell. Yesterday morning, I went behind it, leaned on it as I kneeled down to plug the jacks in, and it caved in. I screamed a little bit, and Mom, who was out on the driveway, heard me and rushed in to ask what happened. Thankfully, I didn't cut myself, and the thing still works. After we got the broken pieces out from inside, Mom said that she'll look for a better TV that's on sale at the hospital.
Dad says that people who make TV sets don't expect that someone's gonna lean on them. Well, even if that were the case, you'd think they'd at least make it durable enough to pick it up and lay it down without having the base chip away. Mom says she's not impressed at all with the quality of that plastic. Most other TV sets can take more abuse than that. Hell, even any kind of disk is more durable.

Last night, I had a conversation with Jake about Rockna's sixth sense in Mon Colle Knights. As it turns out, he had also been unaware of such a thing this whole time, having only seen half the series and not having enough interest in it to make it to his top ten interests list. I copy and pasted Chelle's lj-entry about that whole thing onto NotePad, and sent it to him.
To be honest, I had been just as unaware of it or everything that's involved in it. I only tuned in to the series halfway in, and even then, I spent half the time paying more attention to Rockna's chest than to everything else. I do remember her saying telepathically, "Time's... running... out..." when she was stuck inside the Dread Dragon, but I didn't notice her mind-controlling that thing. I thought Mondo and Gabriolis just survived their way to saving her.
All that canon knowledge about MCK that I lacked... and to think that I once planned on buying the rights and making two sequels (taking place at the same time), one a domestic series, the other another adventure series, both to be on TV.
I should note something in particular with one of the series in question, which would've taken place when they would've been in 12th grade with me. Whenever I went to a school-sponsored dance (which I went to two of, first the Valentine's Day dance, and then the Senior Banquet), it felt good to imagine the two of them going to these events as well. Of course, now that I've been reading Window to Your Soul, this goes to show that she probably would be stressed out if she went to such an event. The fic has her going to a restaurant, being overloaded by auras, and just waiting for it to end, but then again, it previously had her visiting a city, and something did make up for the aura overload. And certainly, she probably wouldn't be able to begin living in even a human city like NYC (which is where the domestic show would take place) or going to a school where everyone moves around each period to different classrooms, without experiencing a real shock.
Poor girl. But then again, this would probably be akin to autistic people not being able to enjoy birthday parties. And, maybe if she were to live in an aura-overloaded place for a whole year (which she and her family would in my 7th grade fic), she might become more used to it overtime. Right?

GETTER LOVE!!
Four rounds.
Round 1: Started by using up a Tairyoku-stealing card on someone, saving myself one trip back home. Spent most of my time with Hana, but it didn't go well. After a few turns, I pissed her off by answering some questions wrong, and as it turns out, I actually had a better relationship with Makoto. If someone hates you and someone else likes you more, common sense dictates that you might as well find the latter girl. Of course, since she was today's Nakayoshi girl, it's harder to get a date with her because the others are competing for her as well. (Later on, Dad told me to mow the lawn, and by then, everyone else was already ahead of me, and they all had more affection from Makoto than I was able to get. So, I was as good as fucked.)
Round 2: Met with two of my opponents at the school, and challenged Chikashi to a paintball game right before Makoto arrived. I won, and decided to take steal Sesshuu's Youshi and Tairyoku energy (Sesshuu was on his team, btw), saving myself two trips back home and wasting his time. (Did better with Makoto than on the previous round, but then Vincent called me to remind me that he was on his way to my house. I was already losing anyway, so it was a moot point.)
Round 3: Started by meeting Natsuki at the Game Corner, but then Ayumi called me and asked me out on a date. Spent most of the game with Ayumi. I got my hands on the beach card, but then someone stole it and took Makoto out with him. Not much else to say.
Round 4: It's Makoto again! I did manage to get my hands on both the beach card and the shrine card, and I also got a teddy bear as a present for her and a love letter as a present from her. Mid-game, a special event took place at... my own house. I went back home, took a nap, and Makoto shows up sitting on my doorstep. After a nice chat with her, I invite her out to the beach, but of course, Reika had to show up and ruin it again, just like before. I tried talking to Makoto anyway, only to end up talking to the fucking bitch instead.
Later on, I invited her to the Shinto shrine. Before it was time to meet her there, I went over to the park, challenged someone to a paintball game, lost, bought a battle card, and challenged someone to a keepaway game. I lost because the person with the mike ended up in a corner, and his teammate blocked him. I would've taken some cash from my opponents if I had won, since I was low on it, and especially since someone else was low on it too. But come to think of it, that's a good strategy from now on: Protect your teammate if he's got the mike.
The shrine date went well, and I also got to see a picture of Makoto lighting some kind of firework. After that, I decided that I had no items left to make Makoto love me more, and my opponents were too close to a win for comfort. I confessed my love to her at the school, answered some questions randomly, and after all we've been through, she dumped me. Ungrateful bitch!
Okay, maybe instead of just turning the game off, next time someone wins, I should pay attention to how they answer the questions.
