Went onto YouTube yesterday morning, typed in "PC-FX music", with very few results, but notable here is a song called Take the Offensive, from Dragon Knight 4. Pretty cool battle theme, right? I listened to it some more while I was at school, before deciding whether or not to add this to my songlist.

It just so happens that this particular game was also made for the Super Famicom, the Playstation, Windows, and DOS. Also, after listening to it the whole way through, it happens to be one of those songs that ends climactically after a few minutes, instead of just looping (or fading if you're listening to an MP3). Yeah, I'm familiar with this gimmick. It happens in various games for the Sega CD (such as Terminator and Sonic CD), the Turbografx-CD (Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Valis IV), the CD-i (two of the Zelda games), and the Playstation (the entire Toshinden series).

And then, there's a song called Attack with Conviction, from Grandia III for the Playstation 2 (which came out much later). If you only listened to the MP3, it ends after one loop, but if you're playing the game (or more specifically, Disk 1), then it loops where it should wind down after two minutes.

Guess what? Take the Offensive isn't a battle theme. It's the opening theme. How ironic, because with this being for both the Playstation *and* the PC-FX, you'd expect that there'd be lyrics to it. Furthermore, the SFC version is, needless to say, of lower quality than the version I linked to. To be expected, given the "bit" differences between consoles.

Well, seeing as I don't normally add opening themes to the list, this one is out. (In case you've listened to Blue Dragon's Eternity and are wondering why that's up, that one is the reverse: A boss theme that you'd expect would be the opening theme if you listened to it without playing or reading about the game first.)

Even though I did print up my term paper, I got carried away with something and forgot to pack it up. When my China class started, I looked through all my notebooks to see if maybe I misplaced it, and then had to tell Dr. Schoenhals that I didn't have it. He told me to email it to him that night. Next thing I know, Mom calls me on my cell phone, and tells me that she found it at home. She asked if she should just drive up, and I declined.

At some point after Mom picked me up from school, the two of us heard a funny noise that the car was making. Next thing that happens, fumes start coming out of the car, and we pulled into the shopping center near Horseblock Road. Mom opened the hood, and it turns out that something burst inside. She called Dad, and agreed to drive home slowly while he stays near the phone. We managed to make it home, but not before Mom told me to call Dad and ask for some cardboard to put under the leak.

Today is the day that Getter Love!! was released in Japan eleven years ago. Given how important that game is, something must be done to celebrate its birthday. And that something is a screenshot of Natsuki's beach scene.

Happy birthday, Getter Love!!
