Feb. 6th, 2010 07:49 amBought an e-Reader Eon Ticket from Ebay, which happened to be packaged with some Nintendo Power magazines. The whole thing came out to be $25, which was the cheapest auction I could find. Ironic, because I saw another auction for the same card going for $40.
Right now, I'm also watching an event for the e-Reader itself, which is currently at $7.50 (including shipping). When I receive both items, I will use them with my copy of Sapphire, since it is a legitimate method of obtaining something. I will also use both the e-Reader and my Jirachi disk with my secondary copies of Ruby and Sapphire when I buy them.
Mom decided to bring me to the library when she got home, so I called GameStop to see if they had any used copies of Pokemon Ranger. I thought it would be practical enough to go there as long as we were also going to the library. The clerk presented me three copies of the game, the first two of which were dead altogether, but the third one had RangerNet conveniently unlocked while still requiring the password to the Manaphy mission.
They also happened to have all five main Pokemon games for the Game Boy Advance this time. The store didn't have FireRed when I sought that and Ruby a year and a half ago, or when I bought LeafGreen a year prior. However, the clerk explained to me that people redeem GBA games for store credit. This is a perfect opportunity to save money! One of these days, when I'm done transferring a Manaphy egg to Pearl and Platinum each, I can redeem three of my Ranger copies (along with Sonic Advance 2, which isn't selling for much on Ebay) for credit, to spend later on my second Pokemon GBA set.
Anyway, I understand that any Eon Ticket downloaded with the e-Reader can be shared with other Pokemon games by mixing records. Since the North American e-Reader isn't compatible with Emerald, I'm gonna ask Brian to bring home the GBA that he bought off of me when he comes home for Spring Break, so that hopefully, I can actually encounter Latias at Southern Island in Emerald.
As of right now, HeartGold and SoulSilver are still an entire month away from arriving here. I've decided that I'll pass the time by taking on the Battle Tower in Sapphire (which I never got around to) and then take more shots at the Frontier in Emerald. Since I woke up a few hours ago, I've been battling Trainers in Sapphire using Heracross, Wailord, and Graveler, which I've decided to bring to the Tower.
