Marie and Jacob went home several days ago.

So, I've had an email exchange with the person who runs Old School Gamer. His responsiveness is a sign that that service might be reputable. I showed the site to Mom, but she didn't get much of a chance to look at it, because she suddenly remembered at the second-to-last hour that we had to go get my cap and gown.

So anyway, we drove up to Dowling, and I ended up having to pay a separate fee for my graduation application. And it was out of my regular bank account, because we already shredded my Golden Lion card, but Mom told me that the latter was empty anyway. So, me and Mom agreed that she'd pay for a new Super NES.

In the meantime, I also gave Brian a call and asked if he'd try to fix up the SNES that we still have. Whether OSG is reputable or not, it would still be cheaper to just buy one off of Ebay than to get mine fixed for up to $79.

Come to think of it, though, maybe Mom can pay for an OSG repair if it comes to that. Even though getting more games is tertiary, if I buy a new unit and then Brian successfully fixes mine, then I'd probably need some games to go with one of the two in order to sell it. Currently, of all the games I still own for the SNES, there are only three that I don't care the least bit about, and when I asked years ago, Brian said that he likes those three.

In other news, Mom and I discussed what exactly I'm looking for in books to start reading. I told her that I'm mainly looking on something that focuses on character development. She suggested that maybe I re-read WLT, which I remember reading so many years ago and has a lot of characters. We still have it somewhere in this house, likely on the bookcase in the dining room.
