Sep. 12th, 2010 07:20 amHad four walking sessions up and down Long Island Avenue yesterday.
1) Not much to say about this one.
2) During the last lap, one of two guys who parked a NationalGrid van near the stop sign came over to me and asked if I was just having a walk. He told me that he saw me walk by, and thought I was going somewhere, and I told him I was just walking. He asked me how many laps I walked; too many to count, but I did check my PokeWalker and got a 50-watt bonus right there.
Upon coming back from that lap, the mail was on its way, and I waited at the mailbox for it. The maillady happened to have a package for Mom that she needed me to sign for, and also had a Netflix rental (Burn Up Excess, disk 3).
(That was when I already had planned on ending that session to come back to the house and have lunch.)
3) Mom and Dad were out sailing while I walked this session. Pretty long; don't remember how many laps I walked, but I came back in as soon as I found myself getting tired. Collected enough watts to unlock Scary Cave in Pokemon SoulSilver.
4) Mrs. Lupfer noticed me across the street while I was having this session. We started talking about stuff, and I crossed the street over to her a few seconds after we began.
Well, first off, I at first didn't recognize their house the previous day, even though I could recognize the wooden blue house next door to it. It used to be small and brown, but now it's beige and has a second floor to it. She said she needed the second floor because it's now home to nine people.
Anyway, she also told me that while Sara and her daughter Charlotte (now in 1st grade) no longer live with them, Daniel is getting married to someone else who will be giving birth to a boy. She told me that Jack is now in 11th grade, Peter is in 6th grade, and if I recall correctly, Patrick is now in college. I filled her in on everyone's situation in my family.
She also thought of telling Daniel about me walking up and down Long Island Avenue, and suggesting to him that he join me. I told her that I normally go up and down Masem Court, and only because of the aforementioned PokeWalker, which I only use to collect stuff for Pokemon SoulSilver. (I should also note that I'm almost completely done with that game, and once I am done, I won't likely be walking any more laps until I start playing HeartGold.)
We also talked about stuff me and Daniel used to do when we were kids. In particular, she remembers that Halloween party we had when I was in 7th grade (especially the toilet paper mummy race). I took the opportunity to bring up Chronicles of 7th Grade, which I hosted a year ago, and with that, proceeded to tell her about this blog. I was about to go home to write the link to it on an index card, but she saved me the trouble and asked one of her sons (don't remember who) to get a piece of paper and something to write with.
I told her that I'd link to the first Co7G entry as soon as she commented, but I think I might as well anyway. She told me she's on Facebook, so I'll probably send her a message there if she doesn't read this entry beforehand.

(Notes to Mrs. Lupfer, since you told me you're not familiar with LiveJournal: Anything that's in emboldened and parenthesized is called an lj-cut. They're used for special sections in a given entry, to separate them from primary content and give readers a choice as to whether to read them or not. You need to click on them in order to read the hidden content. For Co7G entries, these are how I separated the 7th Grade content from stuff that went on in the present, although there are a few entries in which the 7th grade stuff is hosted outright (since I reserved the lj-cut for something else).
(Also, this should go without saying, but if you wish to comment on any entries, there should be an option to do so underneath the entry. Just click on it and you can type what you want to.)
Anyway, after we finished talking, I went home to tell Mom about our chat, and then continued walking until it got dark.
(Total # of steps walked: 33,549. New record!)
