Feb. 16th, 2011 05:39 amMom took another day off from work yesterday afternoon. She suggested that we bake something, but yesterday afternoon, she realized we only had one egg left. (And this was right after we came home from food shopping.) So, she looked for a one-egg recipe, and came across one for chocolate valentine cookies.

So, while there's not much to say about making the dough, Mom eventually did ask me where her cookie cutters might be. She suggested I look in the draw to the right of the stove, and only found one heart-shaped cutter. Mom then found her entire tin in one of the cupboard shelves.
I poured them all out to see what we have. Turns out that we had three playing-card-themed cutters, but since the club was missing, I decided that maybe we should just stick to hearts, and maybe next year we could have all four of them if we find a club-shaped cutter on Ebay.
(When I asked, Mom told me that Grandma Ella had owned all those cookie cutters before she was even born. So, obviously, the club must have gotten lost or something.)
Anyway, Mom did suggest we spread Nutella on the cookies, but by the time they were done cooling, I was already getting tired. Also, I just told her upon waking up that I think I'd rather put cake icing on them than Nutella. She agreed that we'd whip some of that up when she gets home from work today.
