Apr. 5th, 2011 07:13 amThere is a lot to write about regarding the past two days, especially since LiveJournal was down for most of yesterday, so I wouldn't be surprised if I miss anything.
Sunday
Went to Japanese before going from there to New Jersey. Someone named Ayumi substituted for Natsue.
As far as games go, I took my Nintendo DS with me to play Pokemon Diamond on, but all I did with it was check a honey tree every now and then. At Mom's suggestion the previous day, I also brought the Nintendo 64 with Mario Party and all four controllers, but I never even unloaded any of it from the car trunk. (It's still there, actually.)
On the way there, we also had to stop at someone's house to pick up some window screens. Before we got there, Mom told me that there was a Starbucks nearby, and asked me what I usually get when I meet up with Melissa at the one near our house. I told her I probably get a mocha, but I don't remember exactly; might be a latte. She asked me if I had any cash to get anything. I didn't. At first, I thought she'd give me some cash, but instead, she asked me if I'd be willing to use my debit card to pay for a drink for myself and her each.
Okay, one, she could've been more direct about that, instead of making it seem like she was gonna offer me some money. And two, she's the one who's making money; I still have yet to find a job anywhere at all. Therefore, I decided not to get anything for either of us.
Moving on, we discovered that a Wawa had been put in place just around the corner from where Uncle Robby and Grandpa Bob live.
Adam was the only one home when we arrived, and was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops on his Xbox 360 (wearing the headset to boot). I watched him, and asked why he would need to avoid dying if he apparently has unlimited lives. He explained that on the mode he was playing, the object is to get the highest number of kills you can get between deaths. Not long afterwards, the game did end after he got killed one too many times.
And then Uncle Robby and Grandpa Bob came home with lunch. Aunt Allison and Uncle Blas were also with them. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese. While we were eating, Mom told everyone about that court case that she had been involved in just the other month.
(While she was explaining what happened, she described the girl involved as a stripper, even though she told Dad just after it actually ended that she was a prostitute. Umm... "stripper" and "prostitute" are two different things, even though they are both sexual in nature.)
At some point, I decided to go outside, and went into the car to look at my Pokemon player's guides and checked the aforementioned tree in my game. A Wurmple was there, and I captured it. I then put my DS back in the front pocket of my backpack, and then noticed some thank-you letters that I had written up for everyone which were also being stored there. That reminded me...
I came back inside and gave the thank-yous to their respective recipients. Afterwards, I received a gift that Aunt Allison had picked out for me, and it turned out to be a Chinese character dictionary. I thanked her for it, but made a point of telling her that Chinese and Japanese are two different languages.
Allison and Blas had to leave early.
Uncle Robby had set up an iMac, and I was able to use it to communicate with some people on DeviantArt that I had sent notes to before having left home. Worth noting is that the Lucky Star pic that Liam started has been finished and is now archived, and I have now asked someone to write a fanfic that involves the girls depicted having their hair updone like that. However, I did suggest that that person watch the actual series (including the OAV) first before getting started, so this will give me something to look forward to while I'm playing Pokemon Diamond.
Here's the pic, btw:

Robby asked Adam to rake the backyard, and Adam wanted $20 for it. While he, I, Mom, and Grandpa were all gathered outside talking, Robby wanted me to tell Adam how many leafbags I had filled up this year (not even counting the ones Mom filled), and how much I got paid for all that and some of the other stuff I've done such as cutting up branches and that entire log ($0), and even wanted me to shout it out for Adam to hear, even though he was only a few paces away from us. On top of that, he also wanted me to tell him about this six-foot trench that Dad had me and Brian dig through the frontyard for about just $50 back in 2003. All of that, with emphasis on the fact that both our frontyard and our backyard are so much bigger than theirs. (Mom also went out of her way to explain that the reason I don't get paid is because we all have to chip in to keep the house running, especially since Brian and Marie are hardly ever available anymore to do so.)
At some point, Mom asked me what time it is. I told her, and she told Robby and Grandpa that we would have to leave soon. I was kinda disappointed that we wouldn't be having cake to celebrate my birthday or Grandpa's, especially after all that food that Mom cooked and baked the previous day. But, at least we did get to bring home those brownies, which I was really looking forward to. (And upon having two of them just yesterday, it turns out that they're still salty on the top. Mom told me beforehand that it would need some time to settle in.)
After we got back inside, Adam began to download Counter Strike onto the iMac, and thought that it would take until 11 PM for it to finish. However, he actually did get to play it for some length of time before me and Mom left.
During the ride home, Marie text-messaged Mom that she had [shouldn't say it]. Mom had me reply to her while she was driving, and while I was at it, I made a joke that you can get that if someone touches the top of your head. At least according to Saotome-sensei from episode 3 of Pani Poni Dash! (watch the scene starting 15 minutes 25 second in).
Well, this has gone on quite long enough, so I guess yesterday can wait for tomorrow's entry.
