Well, it seems that LiveJournal is less problematic now than it's been for the past few days.

First thing's first, Tuesday morning, I've had a commission completed for me on DeviantArt, of Saga from A Little Snow Fairy Sugar as a giantess.

Also got my reference book later on. Mom said that it came separately from the first volume of Kanji in Context because one store that she ordered from was sold out of one book. We did consider selling it back after discovering that it only contains kanji and meanings, but I decided to keep it after noticing that the first half of the book has all the characters classified by level.

Mom has had off from work ever since Wednesday, so she and I ran various errands.

Wednesday, we had gone to Target and to the barber shop. After I had finished getting a haircut, Mom was unable to get the car started. She thought the problem was that the battery in her key died, and so the security system wasn't recognizing the key, since all the lights behind the steering wheel flickered at the same time each time she tried to get it running. We had to wait an hour while Dad looked for a new battery somewhere before coming to help us. Andrew (the barber) even had to drive somewhere briefly, noticed that we were stuck, and asked if he could do anything about it.

When Dad came over, he tried using the jumper cables to start the car up, and it actually worked.

Got a new service coordinator named Jaymes Blair, whom I saw this past Wednesday. What's ironic, is that he happened to be in the same class with me back in 3rd grade. Gave him a link to this blog because of that.

Yesterday, I asked Mom if she could take me to Borders as long as she was off from work. She told me that it's already going out of business, and upon looking, I discovered that everything there is on sale for 40% off, and that all remaining stores are due to close in September.

To be specific, I wanted to read the Lucky Star manga, mainly to see if Ayano had any more of a role there than in the anime. I had forgotten exactly why I was curious about that, though I'm sure it had something to do with her viability for a hive.

Anyway, even though the library has already received a copy of the first volume, I thought that it might be more convenient to go somewhere that already has more volumes than that. Drove to the store in Bohemia, which turned out to have volumes 5-7. Managed to read halfway through 5 while Mom was busy shopping at Costco and Lowe's, but didn't bother buying anything, even though each volume would've cost a net price of $8 (and Mom had given me a twenty, originally to spend on a snack, before discovering that the dining area was closed).

Finally, here are a couple of things I found related to Makeruna! Makendou Z:

1) http://blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=maniacs777&logNo=90074372378&redirect=Dlog&widgetTypeCall=true

I wonder what the bottom image could be. Could that be the player's guide, if there ever was one published for that game?

2) http://www.flickr.com/photos/28408435@N06/5241195150/

Left a comment asking if the person who took the picture could email me a shot of what the back of this poster looked like. Also sent them a note, but still have yet to receive an answer.

Well, I'm not gonna drive myself crazy over either of these, or any other Makendou paraphernalia that might exist somewhere, but these sure are interesting. I am glad to have played two of the actual games and seen the OAV. My main goal is to translate the first and third games and fandub the third game, the OAV, and two of the second game's omakes (and I've decided some time ago that I no longer care about playing or dubbing the second game itself). If I ever get the chance to buy anything else related to the Makendou franchise, though, I'd probably shell out a few bucks for it.
