End of the Beehive series

Yesterday concluded the Beehive series in Job Offers. Today, I'm having a day off from the 100 Fanart Campaign, and tomorrow will begin an 8-part series of various female Sonic characters with their noses enlarged.

Yeah, there were plenty of pics that either weren't announced the morning after they were posted onto Deviantart or, more recently, never were announced so far. To be honest, though, I never expected that anyone would complete as many pics as agataylor and Souler23 both did, so yeah, it was becoming too common to keep up with. But anyway, let's take a look at what everyone's done:

In any case, though, agataylor is probably due to win by a landslide, with a total of 33 entries. Souler23 comes in second with 11 so far.

Speaking of beehives, I just watched part of the Simpsons episode The Way We Was online two days ago. Some of the stuff mentioned about the episode in this entry is erroneous; namely, the transition of her hair from flowing down to rising up is never even shown. Also, even before watching the episode in question, I've seen a screenshot of it, and given its length at the time (and especially considering that her hive at the Senior Prom is not any shorter than it is in the show's present), there is no way (even with filling) that it could realistically have reached as high as it managed to even back then.

So what's my point here? The way I decide the potential size of any girl's hive who's eligible for one depends on how long her hair is to begin with. Obviously, short-haired girls such as Rokuna or Tsukasa Hiiragi are not eligible for a hive at all, but with long-haired girls, the actual possible size is somewhat arguable. For example, when I had riamux and xXxLaDYInWaItINGxXx work on the first Lucky Star hivepic, the shape and position of the hives depicted there became the standard for all Lucky Star girls viable for one. However, when Chelle created my icon for The Beehive, she gave the same three girls (along with the other girls depicted separately) smaller hives than I would've personally given them, claiming that that's how big they could realistically be without filling. (Notice also that her pic of Seira features a noticeably smaller hive than agataylor's lineart of the same character.) Not that that kills any appeal, and maybe she's right.

Given that she also designed the clothes and hives for each of the Beehive Brigade girls, and that Yuka's is obviously based off of Marge's (whom I gather to be based off of both the Bride of Frankenstein and Simpsons creator Matt Groening's mother), I would assume that she'd assume it to be realistically possible enough (at least in works where certain characters' hair can reach down to their ankles).

In any case, I'm guessing it's still possible for each of the girls linked to in this entry to have as large a hive as they respectively have (at least with some kind of filling). Right?
