Gotta remember that John's username on DeviantArt is Johnnyd2, not Johnny2d. We're not talking about Stuart Pot.

It's been a week now, and I still have yet to continue with Kanji in Context. Things have been rather busy, so I can't really blame myself for neglecting it, and we also still have yet to ship everything out that's been bought. Mom had the days off for Monday and Tuesday, and had me do some stuff around the house. Today, she has to go to New Jersey to bring Grandpa Bob home to live with us, since he's just recently had his hip replaced and can't go up or down any lengthy flights of stairs, but I still have stuff online that I need to take care of. Tomorrow, she'll be going to work, and will hopefully pick up some boxes and bubble wrap to package everything into, and I hope to get on with things then, since Grandpa will be the only one home with me for most of the day.

Yesterday, Mom spoke to Brian on her cell phone, and let me talk to him after chatting with him for a short while. I told him about my recent Ebay sales and the Nintendo Power magazines I recently received. He says that he remembers the time when I bought the entire series off of Ebay, but let me take a minute to clear that up:

Before I made plans on selling all my NP magazines (before I eventually donated them instead), what I bought from Ebay was mostly from 1992. The exceptions were volumes 16 and 18 (from 1990), a few issues from 1993 (which is how I found out about Kendo Rage, before finding out about the real Makendou quadrilogy), and volumes 69, 73, and 78 (from 1995). I was in 9th grade for most of that time, so I didn't have any real source of revenue, and Mom kinda set a limit of $15 for each auction. After buying the aforementioned '93 and '95 issues, I just kinda lost interest in buying any more.

Yesterday was Dad's birthday. Mom had me help her buy a new computer chair from Costco for him the previous day. We didn't have cake or any other presents, but we did have a few cards for him.

One of these were from Aunt Marie. On the front, it says, "Brother, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how old you are..." complete with a cartoon scientist receiving a printout from a machine. Inside, it says, "It takes an archaeologist! Ha ha ha!", with said archaelogist inside an Egyptian tomb, his magnifying glass popping up, with some hieroglyphics (some obviously made up) representing the person's birth.

Two others were mine that I picked out, but I let Mom sign one of them. That one had a hippie on the cover, playing an acoustic guitar and saying "Wow, a child of the '60's is turning 60!", complete with a tie-dye background. Inside, it says "Wanna do some Antacid? Happy 60th birthday!" On the back, he says "How about some JOiNT medication?" (Dad never actually was a hippie, but they were prominent when he was a teenager, and I also admire them for having the courage and self-respect to reject the norms of mainstream society in favor of pursuing their own way of living.)

And then there's mine, which has Garfield on the cover, saying "Know what makes you so special, Dad? You have that wonderful something no other dad has. On the inside, his fist pops up while his thumb points at himself and he says "ME!!" On the back, he says "Are those tears of joy, Dad?"
