Apr. 29th, 2012 06:45 amMom and I had to meet with Uncle Robby, Cousin Adam, and Grandpa Bob to celebrate Adam's birthday. Originally, they were all going to come here, but then I took a message from Grandpa while Mom was running a few errands, that he couldn't leave without a doctor's note. While she was able to understand why, it did annoy her that not a word was said about this until just yesterday. (He will still be able to leave on Tuesday.)
Shortly before we headed up there, Mom had me sign a card that said on the front, "What happens when you close your eyes, make a wish, and blow out the candles real hard?" Inside, it says "Frosting gets everywhere!" I wrote "Just like that bottle of soda Mom just opened up!", because only moments earlier, she opened a bottle of Manhattan Special, and it sprayed all over and around the kitchen sink.
So anyway, Mom brought a dome-shaped chocolate-covered cheesecake with a cherry on top for all of us to share. Adam got the cherry, and Mom mentioned that he once had a jar of dessert cherries, and it made him happy. I asked how a bunch of cherries, kept in a sugary liquid, would make him happy, since I once ate nearly a whole box of chocolate-covered cherries back in 2002 (at Uncle Robby's house, which Mom reminded him), and it made me all pissed off and aggressive.
Mom had to stay at the nursing home to accompany Grandpa, so I went home with Robby and Adam. Later on, Dad went to get some Turkish Food for dinner, and Mom came home just when we were about to finish eating.
