Nov. 18th, 2012 04:29 amTwo days ago, while driving me for a haircut, Mom texted Marie and suggested that maybe her friend Porsha would like to go to some concert. The name came out as "pprags", and Marie made an obvious joke. Mom had me reply "R u 4?", to which she replied "You raised me."

The news stated yesterday morning that Hostess is going out of business. Not that we were ever big consumers of Twinkies and cupcakes, although I do remember some funny commercials for those that aired late in 1997. Even made a joke reference to them once on December 2006.
Anyway, here are what I remember seeing back in my childhood:
Shark and tuber
Raccoon and snowboarder (in German or something, w/ different song towards end)
Lame one with doll
There was also another one where a raccoon hanging from a tree sees something on top of a moving Mack truck as a Twinkie, before getting hit and sent spinning around the branch and spouting the punchline. Couldn't find that one or the English version of the second one I linked to, but I did notice other commercials that I never actually saw on TV. Oh well.

Went with Dad to sweep and vacuum his shop up. Mom eventually came to pick me up so we could go shopping for jeans, but I suggested we go to McDonald's first for lunch, instead of going back home, because it was right within our vicinity and I wasn't interested in shopping on an empty stomach. Got a Ranch BLT, a Holiday Mint McFlurry, and a small cup of Hi-C, all of which I consumed in the car while Mom went into Marshall's. Soon as I finished, I opened the door to allow myself more armspace to take my cell phone out of my pocket, and it set off the alarm. I went into the store to find her personally, and told her what had just happened. She told me she didn't realize that would happen, and the fact that she couldn't hear it led me to ask what the point of having a car alarm is, which turns out to be to scare away potential thieves.
We then walked over to Bob's, and Mom had me try on a few pairs of pants. Not much to say there.
When we got home, I received a letter from Grandpa Bob, thanking me for writing "Do Not Touch" in Japanese ("Sesshoku shinai", both in romaji and in kanji and katakana), with $20 enclosed. From what Mom told me, she also discovered something called Google Translate, which allowed her to write it in other languages such as German and Turkish.
Had a nap for a bit, but even after I got up, I had such a sugar crash from what I had for lunch, combined with two candy cookies I had as a snack earlier on, and I didn't feel like doing much of anything for the whole rest of the day. Even drinking the whole rest of a water bottle, walking laps up and down Masem Court, and having a cup of tea that Mom made me only briefly made me feel any better. I did manage to make a few edits to the Starbound chapter, and had a convo with Jake, but that was pretty much it. Didn't even eat dinner or dessert, in fact.
-----
About said convo, Jake had come forward about a handful of fanfiction-related issues that bothered him, not least of all regarding Jamie's initial chapter in Parasitic Trio.

(For the record, I wouldn't mind a mildly muscular frame, but even then, I would rather it be through the person's own efforts--which would be how Mondo would've gotten his own mentioned in Mondo & Rokuna's BIG Date. That's the extent of it, at least as far as protagonists go.)
That all said, Jake asked me to edit everything myself. I asked in turn that he just not make any further muscle references. So, for the full number of pages written for this chapter, that's $15 off his debt, which puts it back down at $116.
Will likely get around to editing it when I'm not so focused on Starbound, the Earthbound trilogy, or Kanji in Context.
(As far as the other issues go, Ellen will not get a hive in her non-PT fic, the only other issues were about him having to find a reason for every viable girl to get their hair updone just because I like hives, and anything about characters and stuff canon to Lucky Star. From that, we agreed that Mai will not be hived in the Yoshi's Island fic, though likely so in a sequel to it, and anything we discuss regarding Starbound will be primarily about non-canon characters. Done, and done.)
