Last Sunday, I went with Mom down to the shop, and stopped at the gas station while we were there. Saw Hamit at the counter, and asked him for an Instant Jackpot. He didn't have any of those, and without any twice-a-week games ending that day, all I did was exchange $5 worth of change for a bill.

The following day, Mom dropped me off at the gym to have a workout session to myself. I did some exercises, and then walked over to Stop 'N' Shop to buy a Lucky 8's at one of the vending machines. Came back, called Mom to come pick me up, and it turned out she was already in line at the checkout at Savers just next door. Scratched off the card when we got home, and won $5 back.

The day after that, I brought the card with me as she, I, and Dad all went to the gym, and at some point redeemed it for a Pick 10 ticket worth five games. Won $4 back with that one by getting zero matching numbers on Game C. (I'm not kidding. That actually is pretty hard to pull off, because while each game has ten numbers, there are twenty that are drawn each night between 1 and 80.)

Just yesterday, Mom and I had to go out for haircuts. Got mine at Andrew's, while she got hers at Francesca's down the street from him. Walked over to the gas station just across the street after mine was done, and bought a two-game ticket each for PowerBall and Lotto (the latter for $1 worth of spare change I had), before meeting Mom at Francesca's.

And, that's where my winning streak ended. Took $1 worth of change from the kitchen jar at 3 this morning to buy a Take 5 ticket with, next time we go out somewhere (other than the gym, where I normally don't bring money), but I'm in no hurry to actually buy one. In fact, one of my rules states that gambling should never be the main purpose of going out somewhere, although I have recently been taking opportunities to go anywhere with Mom, mainly to pass time and then come back home and see if anyone's gotten back to me about anything.

The two of us stopped by at Target on the way home from Francesca's. While we were there, I noticed for the second time ever, some retro-style boxes of cereal by General Mills, such as Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Lucky Charms. Showed Mom, and she also noticed a $5 discount or something for collected vintage games.

Spoilers for Starbound )

Coinciding with the last paragraph in the above cut, Mom read on her Facebook friends page, someone she knows at work said that he was stuck on Eleuthera Island while waiting out a storm, until someone else sailed him to the Bahamas' main island. Even more coincidentally, Eleuthera happens to be where Uncle Robby had gone on vacation at least once before, maybe several times but having definitely brought Grandpa Bob with him once. And that was right before she noticed what I wrote on the ticket.
