Lives lost: 400
Game Overs: 33
Days elapsed: 7 (Not that that matters anymore.)
Why such a huge gap between the numbers of lost lives and Game Overs? Because the Rush Search allows you to continually farm 1ups and E-tanks (especially when you also keep digging up W-tanks with which to keep on going), and Dr. Wily bombards you with a hard-to-dodge attack that's still known to hit you even when you do figure out how to dodge it. During this past week, there were two days on which I spent hours on end tediously digging around for shit just to prevent a Game Over, and then losing against the Wily Capsule. Yesterday, I made it all the way to the last battle, and actually won without losing any lives, although I did have to use up all my E-tanks and my S-tank.
After reading on TV Tropes & Idioms that none of the visuals during the credits are present on the Anniversary Collection release, I'm glad I played this on an emulator instead. Also plan on playing Rockman & Forte on an emulator despite having the GBA version of Mega Man & Bass, since the Game Boy Advance is known to have inferior sound quality to the SNES/SFC. Unfortunately, with Mega Man 8 before that, unless I come across a used Saturn at Savers, I'm pretty much gonna be restricted to playing the inferior PSX version on the Anniversary Collection. I already tried my luck a second time with emulators a few months ago (that time, for Macintosh OS X), and didn't fare any better than in 2008.
Gonna translate all of chapter 2 of Mother: The Original Story starting tomorrow. Would like to spend today taking care of a few things, although downloading the Wii Homebrew Channel for certain stuff on Mega Man 9 and 10 can wait until I complete MM8.

As of several days ago, my laptop is no longer able to charge back up. Brian told me that the battery has pretty much died out, so now all the plug does is maintain what power still is on it, and even then, it's still declining. Right now, it's only down to 96% power, so nothing's urgent right now. Mom does plan on bringing me back down to New Jersey at some point to watch over Grandpa Bob when Uncle Robby and Cousin Adam go on vacation for two weeks, so I will be needing it then. For now, though, I'll just power it down after I save my current translation of Mother: The Original Story to my flash drive, and continue working on that on the PC from Dad's workshop.
Mom and I have already spoken about buying a new PC for myself, and agreed that it can wait until Christmas or afterwards, when we have more money to spend. In the meantime, I also managed to cancel most of my remaining commission orders, save for one fic that I have requested from Chelle. Will also try again today to sell some stuff on Ebay.
