(no subject)

Bought a player's guide for Paper Mario, which I'm thinking of playing already once I finish the lemon. Had shown Jake the comments under my previous entry two days ago, and he told me that that game's story is not so much "formulaic" as "episodic". I'm pretty sure it is, but that's exactly why I intend to play the game already, this time the whole way through. (Until now, the only time I've played it was when I rented a copy way back in 2001, when it was only months old, and I only got up to chapter 4, not even very far into the chapter itself.)

Also compared its plot to that of Dark Cloud 2, which is also episodic but has supposedly much more depth. With that, though, I'll probably just re-watch all the cutscenes on YouTube. Probably gonna sell the game itself and the player's guide on Ebay next time I feel like running some auctions, because there are certain flaws I'd rather not deal with again, and the amount of time it sucks up just isn't worthwhile. Even just finishing up its bonus dungeon would be a pointless task.

Anyway, the aforementioned comment thread has since continued a little, and I do intend to respond to some stuff that Chelle said. Just need some time to re-read it and formulate a response, maybe bringing certain points up with Jake as well.
