Feb. 15th, 2015 05:53 amWatched episode 7 of The Legend of Korra last night. What goes on in that episode, involving Hiroshi's connections with the Equalists and a secret factory hidden deep underneath his mansion, reminded me of certain things in three different stories:
1) Monster Collection Chronicles: The ties between Nickelodeon (What a coincidence!) and Al Qaida, and the laboratory hidden beneath Nickelodeon Studios. The Knights would have been tasked at some point with infiltrating this compound, but Chelle already ruled that out as a violation of the 4th amendment of the United States Constitution, bound to screw up their entire mission for that part of the ficseries.
2) Starbound: The alien factory hidden underneath a shady Hooters restaurant on Long Island.
3) Crap Unread: Jiro's ties with the yakuza, and a certain phone call that Miyuki overheard one night between him and Kai. (And yeah, I still refuse to acknowledge what went on in that fic, but it's not like I can magically forget what I already had read before.)
