It was snowing when we got around to packing the car before dawn yesterday. The air cleared up shortly after Dad and I left the house, although it did snow at another point as well. (Mom stayed home because she hadn't been feeling well these past few days, although she never said that she planned on coming with us anyway. She told us by the end of the day, over the phone, that it was still snowing at our house.)

We stopped at the same diner where we ate breakfast back in September '11. I ordered three pancakes and a hamsteak. (Dad later told Grandma Barbara and Aunt Marie I consumed the ham in eight pieces in only the time it took for him to look out the window.)

Also a good thing that volume 3 of Kazumi Magica took as long for me to receive as it did. Had no idea until less than a week ago that we even would be coming down here, and I read the whole rest of that particular volume from where I left off after we ate.

Arrived at the house, had a nap, and then joined Dad, Grandma, and Aunt Marie while they were chatting. (Marie told me that Uncle Ray is currently in Singapore.) Handed Grandma a thank-you letter at some point for remembering my birthday, which I had inside an envelope with a reminder to Dad to bring it with him and also a P.S. apologizing for not being able to come. (Those, of course, were from before Dad apologized to me for flying off the handle about my gym performance.)

Went into Marie and Ray's room to play Super Buster Bros., but was unable to get the game screen to display. At first, it seemed like something was missing in the back, and I came back out to another part of the house, where Grandma and Aunt Marie were helping Dad to set up a sewing machine he had brought (he came down here to take some kind of sewing class). They were talking about various shows they watch, and I waited for a break in the convo before addressing that game issue.

Marie came with me and helped me look into it for a bit, before calling Cousin David for help. She says that she was never able to get it to work ever since she and Ray got the TV set that they currently own. Turns out that there was just a little bit of tweaking to do.

Played the game for a bit, but it didn't really hold my interest. Glad to know that at least that unit still works. Marie and Ray had that thing for at least a year before I got my own, and it's been five years since I had to send mine to get repaired.

Came back out, and David was chatting with Marie. He was actually planning to come at around 8:30, a time at which I'd probably be in bed, but made a trip here early in order to help out with the SNES. He was supposed to go somewhere to make dinner for someone (didn't specify who or where), and wasn't able to eat dinner with us.

While he was still here, though, he did ask if I own an Xbox 360. He told me that he's been trying to get rid of his after having obtained a Playstation 4, and offered it to me for free even though he currently has it listed on Craigslist. I told him I'd think about it, because I don't have much more room or containers for game systems, and the games he has for it don't really interest me. (Really, new games in general tend not to. I'm pretty much content with Getter Love!!, Kiratto Kaiketsu, and Candy Crush Saga, and I have much more of a personal agenda than I ever had as a kid. (There were even several DS games that I never got around to playing in-depth (not just Pokemon, either), before selling them with one of my DS'es themselves.)

And today, it's time to start taking care of stuff again.
