Mar. 30th, 2015 06:28 amStarted yesterday off by having a look over Chelle's critique of the sumo fic's second chapter, but had too hard a time starting any actual fixing up. Today, I should attempt the easier stuff to fix, and come back to the harder parts afterwards.
There was also the fact that yesterday was our trip to the Golden Corral, somewhere we only go once or twice a visit down here. In preparation for that, I made a point of eating only enough that I could at least function somewhat, that being a banana and an orange for breakfast, and then a cookie and some tea upon joining the others in a conversation. Aunt Marie was the one to propose our trip there the previous day, and said in said convo that she thought I was the reason we all go there until Marie my sister suggested it while visiting months ago.
Since I still couldn't quite focus on writing, even after having my first walk around the neighborhood here, I decided to play Super Bomberman for a bit. Once again, it failed to hold my interest, and I turned the game off early in World 4. Went to read some Cracked articles on my laptop, and found a few relevant tips involving personal hygiene and water consumption.

Mom found the articles in general amusing, but told me that our doctors probably wouldn't buy them. For one thing, despite the former article's claims about brushing right after one eats, soda is already destructive on its own to enamel, which should be obvious if you know that it can also erode paint from your car. Furthermore, we all use an electric toothbrush, which isn't quite as abrasive as normal ones, so that probably helps.
Regarding #1 in the latter article, Mom told me that the amount of water she's been having me drink for over a year now is also important for removing toxins, and was also recommended to Dad when he collapsed in the gym a few years ago.
In any case, all jokes aside, those articles tend to seem believable enough, so I suggested that I write down the main points and any claimed evidence to support them, to show to Dr. Mattimoe next time we see him. I mean, it is true that there is no gospel, and there was even another article saying how skewed science tends to be, but even the end of said article said that there is a difference between blindly believing someone in a lab coat and actual consensus in the scientific community.

Following our trip to the buffet, we went to this garden store called McDonald Garden Center, which just so happened to be located just past a McDonald's restaurant. And then, to Cousin David's house. Not much went on at either place, although I was pretty tired from eating as much as I had.
Back at Grandma's, I think I might have started to feel ill. Obviously enough, having had a few sugary things at the buffet wouldn't have helped my strength, although it does help that I had a few non-sugary things with protein before those. However, my throat had also been sore since the previous day, and I also started having a cold. In addition to Mom having fallen ill several days before Dad and I left home, Grandma told me that Brian had at some point been sick a week ago, around the time that he and Marie came to visit us, and Mom might just have gotten something from him and passed it on to me.
I laid in the bed I've been sleeping in for a bit, and Grandma brought me a box of tissues and an electric blanket. Got up not long after, and wandered into Aunt Marie's room to lie down on top of her bed. She stopped by not long after, and offered me a couple of vitamin C's, with which I requested some orange juice.
Started feeling a little better after that, but was bored on top of still feeling sick. Saving the rest of Kazumi Magica for our ride back home, since it didn't even take much of the ride here to read most of volume 3 (one chapter at a time, no less), and those old SNES games, nostalgic as they may be, just aren't doing it for me.
Settled instead for some time with Candy Crush, choppy as it may be on my laptop. Turns out that the mascot at Candy Cabaloose, a raccoon in a prison jumpsuit, has at some point been replaced with the Easter Bunny (who was already the character you help out at Easter Bunny Hills much earlier on). According to the wiki, the most likely reason for this was due to copyright issues involving its resemblance to Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy. If that were the case, though, then I don't see why the creators couldn't simply redesign him to be wearing a traditional black-and-white uniform like the Hamburglar. (Wouldn't have been surprised if that's what he wore in the first place.)
Well, second-to-last level of that episode was what I previously cleared, and now that I've cleared the episode itself, I should receive a boost to the next one when I really intend to come back to it. (Been intending to come back to the game all along, but not playing it for a while has helped me to get certain things done. This case was just something of a last resort.)

Had Grandma make me some tea afterwards. Was already feeling revitalized even before it was ready, and Aunt Marie even commented that I didn't look so pale as shortly earlier. Got over the cold temporarily at some point, although it did come back last night.
Said cold notwithstanding, I am feeling much better at this point, and my throat doesn't hurt so much anymore either. Should be back in action today.
