Aug. 16th, 2015 08:50 amMom has kept a few green caterpillars (not for the first time, though), and a few of them have already hatched into butterflies. One of them, unfortunately, hatched the other day with a deformed wing, and we had to put it in the garden after I noticed it for a second time on our driveway (I initially dumped it onto some hedges near our front steps) so that it could feed on some flowers there. (Mom noticed it having made its way more than a few feet out of the garden yesterday, and brought it back there.)
Just yesterday, Mom actually saw a different one hatch, and she and I were sure to take a series of pictures of it unfurling its wings as she placed it onto a vase flower to cling to. Will be sure to email them to Chelle once we have those uploaded.

Just had a convo with Jake about my spritesheet project, covering certain aspects such as heights and school uniforms. Got the height issue all figured out to bring up with Chelle (at least once she comes back online after some issues she's run into), but I think I may have stumbled regarding school uniforms (particularly where Rokuna and her friends are involved).
To begin with, I've decided beforehand that Rokuna and her circle of friends would have attended Kuki Hokuyo High School (mentioned early in Birthday of Destiny) before she and Mondo embark on their journey. I think I may have tried before, but googling "school uniform kuki hokuyo" didn't pan out. In fact, I'm not even sure if girls attending Kyouei High School (the real-life equivalent to Ryouou High) actually wear sailor uniforms, or if that was just for author appeal or to complement the opening theme; I did read somewhere on TV tropes that those are more associated with middle school students than high schoolers.
Chelle has mentioned on Tumblr before, that school uniforms do not interest her at all, due to her inability to relate to school itself. Just to provide an opportunity in return for his involvement in Starbound itself, I had asked Jake to specify if there are any particular types of school uniforms that appeal to him, and he suggested Sailor Moon-esque ones for girls and something resembling Donald Duck's outfit (with pants, of course) for boys. I didn't reject it outright, but did mention that it would be interesting if Rokuna and co. wore something else altogether at their own school (particularly for when she and anyone recruited from outside Japan attends Ryouou with the main four for just one week of downtime).
Since he did specify something at all (regarding something he's not really into to begin with), I will at least make a spritesheet of them in those uniform types first, before possibly creating other sets based on other shows like Nichijou or Kill Me Baby (both* already the subject of cosplay at the cosplay cafe during different points in the story or game).
(*While Nichijou is planned for when the party eats out there during their break, KMB was something I've decided on in hindsight for the flashthroughs in chapter 1. Didn't specify anything there, because that was more than a year before I watched that show, and it didn't really pertain to the overall plot anyway.)
