Sep. 18th, 2015 07:18 amMarie does read this blog regularly, but had sent me an email after reading yesterday's entry. On how to break out of that writer's block I described, she had shared this with me:

Given how many tips there were on breaking the ice, she set me up to write about ten pages within the next week and said that she will not accept an inability to still come up with anything. To begin with, I was leaning towards a version of this crossover with Divine Gate, with Pia meeting Elise and her group of friends (instead of Madoka and hers). However, it was from here that I put some real thought into it.
Before leaving to write things down in a notebook, I shared both the fanfic and the actual anime with her, along with some related stuff. She expressed particular interest in my collection of Cibus pics (currently only six) that I commissioned agataylor for, and took up my offer to fill her in whenever I put new ones up.
(Something from a year ago also becomes funny to look back to. When we went to visit her for Thanksgiving, I noticed this coffee mug depicting a few overweight socialites, complete with the slogan "Fat is Beautiful". Marie told me it was hers when I brought it up during yesterday's convo, and little did it likely occur to her at the time how much I'd sure agree.)
Decided to watch The Rebellion Story later on, since I would also like to apply Nagisa in some way to the fic. I do recall Chelle telling me how poorly the ending was pulled off, with Homura pulling a literal and out-of-character diabolus ex nihilo, and how badly it all goes against the themes of the anime. Does sound akin to Kagami's early actions in Crap Unread (character derailment w/o buildup, especially given certain things she said earlier on), but I had other reasons to consume this. Some might argue that it at least makes sense as a form of counterbalance, since balance is one of the franchise's most important themes, and whether Homura's actions to become a demon actually could be chalked up to her snapping after everything that's gone on seems debatable.

Just found out on Chelle's Tumblr two nights ago that another Madoka crossover was being hosted in Japan this past month (ending in three days), with the mobile RPG Phantom of the Kill. Googled it, and I gather that it's about the girls chasing several Witches into the PoK world. Suggesting otherwise, though, would be the bottom image in this article, depicting Tyrfing in both her canon outfit and a school uniform matching theirs.
Pia, known in her own game as Wind Pier, is shown in both a uniform and some magical attire in the DG crossover, but unlike Tyrfing, what she wears as a Puella Magi doesn't quite match what she wears by default in DG proper. There's also the fact that the worlds in that installment have been more or less merged, as opposed to either party leaving their world to visit the other. Tyrfing's depiction in a uniform seems to suggest that she'd be paying a visit to Madoka's world. Surely, it would be some coincidence if, assuming the characters in PoK even attend school, their uniforms happen to match those of Mitakihara Middle School.
Well, the game was supposed to have debuted here at Anime Expo (which I've only heard of while Googling) a few months ago. It is said to be planned for release here, although an actual date hasn't been established. If it actually does come out, I might give it a try on Mom's iPad and see how things actually work in that game's world.
