Oct. 15th, 2015 05:39 amScored two loose bags of plastic bottles yesterday morning, hours before they could get picked up. Brought both of them with me on our way to the gym to take care of when Mom would be in Savers afterwards, but she decided this time to go to Savers first, since they were having some kind of sale and then Ellen would come on to watch in the gym when she'd be done.
A whole handful of the bottles had reward codes attached. Made a total of $3.85, and spent the three on a PowerBall ticket. I figured that the number of bottle caps I'd be keeping would ensure that I wouldn't forget about the ticket.
Upon coming back to Savers and then leaving, Mom suggested I put all the caps inside the trunk and my ticket in her pocketbook during our gym visit, so as to make working out less awkward. Guess I might as well not have gambled in the first place, since I don't normally play the lottery during gym trips (one reason being in case I'd accidentally forget my ticket in my pocket for too long).
Well, didn't win, but that's to be expected, and I only spend a maximum of $5 a week on the lottery. I was already planning since a week ago to play a bi-weekly game w/ the multiplier activated, and not having done so before Sunday saved me a few dollars there. Mom even did offer on the way home from Costco to bring me somewhere to gamble last Saturday, since we stopped at a nearby gas station that turned out not to have a store when I asked (the pumps are owned by Costco itself), but I told her that I make a point of not going to any given place just to gamble, lest I start spending more recklessly. Today is Thursday of the second week since she gave me a twenty for this whole month, I've got two dollars left to spend this week before resetting back to five on Sunday, and the next game I play will be QuickDraw ($1).
(Note: Stop 'n' Shop does not accept White Rock. Saw more of that in both bags than anything else.)
