Yesterday was our week-and-a-half-awaited trip to Boston.

Early during the ride, Dad had to stop at a Walmart to buy an oil change. I got my shoes on and took my wallet out of my backpack in case there was anywhere nearby to play the lottery, but all else there was was a Home Depot and a Kohl's. I went into Walmart anyway to use the restroom, and Mom told me to hurry up.

An employee told me inside that the store wasn't open, which was odd, since Dad hadn't come back before I had left the van. I was still able to use the restroom, and Mom said that I was actually pretty quick when I came back to the van. (Dad would be minutes longer before coming back himself.)

-----

Later on, we stopped to eat at this diner called Sugar Bowl. The actual restaurant was a short distance from where we parked, and without realizing just yet that we were already in Connecticut*, I attempted to cross the street first to a nearby gas station, but there were too many oncoming cars before Mom called be back.

(*Mom did tell me earlier on that that's where the place in question was, but I was asleep for the whole ride until that point, and we could've made another stop between Walmart and leaving New York.)

Inside, the place was decorated with all kinds of stuff for Easter. While there were a few things put up for St. Patrick's Day as well, I asked her what actually determines when Easter falls. I remember it taking place usually in April earlier in life; second Sunday in 1998, first in '99, and fourth in 2000, but she told me that it, along with the special days preceding it, rely on some kind of religious calendar, something that might be worth looking up.

Ordered a pair of chocolate chip pancakes and some ham while we were there. Should've ordered something other than ham, given how thin the kind they serve was.

From there on, I started reading my player's guide for Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. Hearing about the new Pokemon Sun and Moon has inspired me to look into continuing Parasitic Trio; I mentioned that to Jake the other day, and subsequently showed him what I've already written of chapter 2 of Jamie's fic, and if I can finish that up, I might just buy myself a copy of the respective player's guide. If that proves interesting enough, and if I can write up yet another chapter of the ficseries, I might even buy a second copy of that for X and Y.

Brian had paid a visit to Marie before we arrived in Boston, and that's where we went upon doing so. They had ordered some Turkish sandwiches and baklava, and we gladly had some for ourselves while settling down and making some small talk with them and Marie's boyfriend Sam.

During our time there, I took out my laptop, opened up Google Chrome, and it opened up a YouTube clip of the full intro theme of the Sonic Mega Collection* from when I used that thing the last time. I took a few seconds to click out of that, and Brian said that his laptop also opens the Internet up from where he last left off, and I mentioned this one time the other day when Mom opened up Chrome, only to have a whole bunch of tabs of various things open up on her at the same time. (They were stuff I linked to while assembling a document to email Chelle; I was verifying the links, and didn't bother to close anything out.)

(*One of several things' opening themes I was linking to on my game mechanics file, which will eventually make its way into the soundtrack file, as a template for those of Day of the Beehive. Others include those for Mega Man 8 (which has two different songs between Japan and North America), Freedom Planet, and Snowboard Kids Plus.)

Just moments later, I looked for an outlet from which to let it stay charged. First one I found was behind a lampstand and a cabinet, and I accidentally leant down on the power button while reaching for it, turning it off. I tried to turn it back on, but for some reason, it wouldn't boot up again. Marie suggested that maybe it needs some time to sit for a bit, but I spent at least half an hour upon waking up this morning pressing the button for several seconds at a time, and it won't start up. (I am writing this entry from Marie's machine, after having interrupted her sleep for the password, exactly for that reason; gonna need to have Brian look into it, and hopefully, he should still have most of what I have to go over with him in his inbox before he looks into whatever's wrong with my unit.

These things just choose the most convenient times to stop working, don't they? First one right before Marie's college graduation four years ago, and this one the first time when I'm writing my 9/11 entries for 2013, which I ended up post(pon)ing (for) a year later, and now while I've decided to spend several nights over here.

About that, yes, I'm spending at least another day here. Mom and Dad made some sudden changes in plans shortly before we arrived, but Brian let me stay here in order to go over what's now four different things.

Anyway, we had to make two trips between Brian's current and new apartments to help him move all his stuff. I rode with Marie, Sam, and two of Brian's roommates John and Quinn while transporting the first half of his things, and along the way, we made a turn onto this street called Longwood Avenue. (A street bearing the same name as our old school district, and Marie also told me that Boston is located in a county called Suffolk, and there's also a town nearby called Medford.) Brian's new place also happens to be down the same street from where I stayed over New Year's last year, and we also got to see one of Marie's ex-boyfriends Jacob.

-----

Marie brought me and Sam out for milkshakes at this place called J.P. Licks after we were all done, while Mom and Dad went back home. We were also gonna invite Brian to come with us, but he was busy putting his bed together and making other arrangements.

Also stopped at a deli nearby after we finished eating there, before heading back to Marie's place.

And now, it's almost seven already. I had told Marie that I normally get up at around 4, and she told me that Robin Wood probably wouldn't be open at that hour, but now it's already light outside, and I think I'll get dressed now and head over there, while leaving this blog open for Marie to catch up on whenever she wakes up.
