Oct. 3rd, 2016 07:35 amBrian came over for a few hours before leaving for New York on a business trip.
Before Mom and I went to Port Jefferson to get him, I had a nap, and could hear them on the phone, but didn't pick up on the details. Mom told me after I woke up that we'd go get him "in a little while". I took that to mean in at least fifteen minutes, so I decided to listen to something on YouTube. Mom came into my room to let me know, and Dad asked if I could hear her, which Mom told him I couldn't because I had my headphones on. I then told her that she should have said "in a bit," specifying how I differentiate this kind of terminology.
Anyway, we went over to the ferry station, picked him up, all three of us chatted as we brought him home, and then Mom and I went over to Stop 'n' Shop just briefly. Upon coming home from there, Brian and Dad were talking, and one of them said something about how the words "under God" were added into the Pledge of Allegiance. I then mentioned how I found out about the origin of the pledge itself, and pulled up this same article that I linked to on Thanksgiving last year, which they would go on to see at different times.
