Nov. 16th, 2016 05:13 amIt has occurred to me only last night that the controller I had been using this whole time might have a faulty control stick. Cases in point: Why does Big keep turning around whenver I have him throw a rock in Ice Cap, with the joystick all the way forward? There was also this one time yesterday when Amy faced the right instead of forward upon entering the Mystic Ruins Chao Garden, landing all the animals I had collected in one stage right in the threshold.
Until last night, I thought the controls in that game might've just been awkward in general, but then came Big's first re-visit to Ice Cap, in which at some point his fishing line kept moving to the left even when I held the joystick to the right. Plugged in a different controller, and so far, it's working at least better.
If the one I had been using previously was the same one that came with the system itself, then it's a good thing I bought three more back in '11 (originally for a game we ended up not playing at our vacation house). This one proves itself worthy, I might just consider taking the other one to BestBuy for proper disposal. (While I'm there, I might also buy a backup mouse for my desktop, so that we can get rid of the defective one that I've used a while ago.)
