Nov. 3rd, 2017 04:40 amMom told me yesterday that Brian expects the heating up and running next week, so I should expect to visit him for a week the following week. That should mean fewer expenses than if I were to stay for two weeks, and since Jason and Yesid still haven't gotten back to me, I might wait only until I make a bank deposit today or tomorrow before posting Unwilling Service to Upwork again.

Unfortunately, it has occurred to me last night that I might also need to have May's second chapter redone, although I will probably set the new version aside to start with. Even though Jake already told me that he still has yet to fix his life up before we continue talking, I have invited him back onto Skype only a few days ago, since his original issues started long before our falling-through. He hasn't gotten back to me, and he had also mentioned having limited Internet access these days and probably needs time to breath, but I would like to ask what Azelf was really thinking by dragging Billy into the middle of things. (I asked before, but what he said at the time was kinda vague, something like him becoming a recurring character.)
This is exactly part of the reason I was hoping he'd actually continue beta-writing even with everything that got in his way. I was hoping he'd actually fulfill whatever purpose he had in mind for him, and included him in my draft of chapter 3, in which he'd actually affect stuff, exactly under that expectation.
Now, his whole involvement in things is probably just gonna become a plothole or something, as if Azelf himself had no real reason to rope him in except that the original beta-writer wanted it to happen, and it's not likely to affect anything yet to happen. I mean, for my current draft, he's the one who leads May to the Trainers' School in Rustboro City, but is that something Azelf actually planned out, and even if it is, it will still raise questions later, since I have no specific plans for Uxie or Mesprit to do anything like that. Or was Azelf just planning for him to... "work on" May, only for someone else to do that instead, for a purpose that she would have had other means of fulfilling on her own?
I honestly thought it was such a nice plot twist to begin with. However, I am not interested in asking anyone either to add twists or to maintain the plot as it is, any more than I was going to ask Jake in the beginning, and it's just gonna seem weird if other people to be involved only do what I do for the whole rest of the story, which has barely ever gone anywhere to begin with. Exactly why I specifically wanted Jake to continue from where we left off in the first place.
That said, even if a new version of the chapter gets written up, I will give Jake time to get back to me to clarify things before deciding whether to actually replace the current version or not. If either he still doesn't get back to me or I finalize my decision to demote Billy back to a one-off character, I will present the current draft of chapter 3 as is, but will ask whoever I've got in charge to try to rewrite it the best they can without his inclusion.
