Dec. 5th, 2017 05:27 amWent with Mom to get this year's tree from Costco, only to find that they were sold out. The two of us went inside, and Mom gave me a twenty to buy a pizza slice with before asking if there would be any more trees coming. I only managed to use the restroom before Mom asked that we leave.
She called the store in Riverhead, and they had none either, so we ended up buying one at The Home Depot instead. We still ate out, at Milano Pizza in the same shopping center, because Mom had some leftover pork chops that she could easily re-heat just for Dad. I decided upon a gyro and some mozzarella sticks, and Mom got on my case for a bit before we ordered, urging me just to get a pizza slice because it's less expensive than even a gyro by itself, since that's what she gave me that twenty for in the first place, even though I already had some money that Dad gave me the other day. I gave her back the twenty after we ordered and found a table, but she went on to give that back along with two fives to pay with once our food was ready (which included her sole order of a blanco slice).
When we drove home, she told me I need to be more mindful of my money. (Personally, I beg to differ. Except for in Boston, it's not everyday that I end up eating out somewhere, and whenever I do, I normally have cash on hand, and it's never like the amount I pay is enough to warrant a bank deposit instead.)
