As I put Starbound's translation on hiatus, an idea occurred to me yesterday, of how awesome it might be if Yoshimizu himself would be interested in continuing it.

For starters, if he actually were to find the story itself interesting, I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on something like that on a You Didn't Ask basis. Given how likely certain similar things I was thinking of in comparison had or would have worked under different contexts, though, I was sure to run my initial ideas past Brian, Marie, Chelle, and David. Only Chelle discussed the idea in-depth (I relayed some things she said to Brian and Marie, so that I wouldn't have to hear the same things from them), and had helped me boil it down to something more appropriate (omitting any actual proposals, and not even specifically for him). However, on his part, David told me that he currently can't go due to learning and medical reasons, and will probably try again to formulate some plans next year, and Chelle agrees with Mom (whose opinion on this from before I relayed to her) that he sounds incredibly delusional. (Whether he actually knows what he's doing or not is up to him, especially since others on the Lucky Star forum had already called him out on said delusions.)

With that, I'm pretty much done trying to save up for it. I would rather commission for more Cibi than hold out on something that might end up never happening at all, although I will fill Uncle Robby in on things first, since he expressed interest in coming to Japan with me (probably just to explore, of course) when he helped fund my trip for Christmas.

That said, I would still like to play Mother 2, as had been planned, once my Wanikani subscription ends, if now just for a morale boost before I really get back into Starbound. I did recently manage to revise my food file, but I still lack the spoons to continue reading Earthbound New Generations, and while I had also been planning at analyzing all songs throughout the Earthbound trilogy before revising the soundtrack file, I can't stand the thought of simply looking at the wiki's lists. Still gonna record my gameplay in case things actually do pan out with David and Yoshimizu, although I don't plan to upload it anywhere unless that ever happens.

(In general, I do wonder what Yoshimizu himself might think of such a game as Day of the Beehive that would practically turn his world he created into Nichijou or Di Gi Charat, especially since he had already applied certain non sequiturs within his own work. Someone added this DOS game called Superhero League of Hoboken to Game Gourmet shortly after its launch, I checked out some footage on YouTube, and surely enough, it gave off some rather nice Earthbound vibes right there. Cringeworthy as the idea itself might be, it actually becomes interesting once you embrace it, especially when you consider that Lucky Star just isn't combat-friendly on its own, with Earthbound being the closest thing in both setting and tone and the alternatives being either much darker or set mainly in some other dimension the girls would wind up in.)
